Dr. Joan Biles on "Handwriting without Tears" Childcare available with RSVP by Friday, Feb. 15 to T50@... Rev. Dr. Joan Biles will be our guest speaker for the February 21 meeting. She received her BS in Early Childhood from the University of GA,where she also received a Masters in Education and Masters in Psychology in Exceptional Children and Child Guidance. She has a Master of Divinity from Emory-Candler school of Theology and a Ph.D. in Education from Cambridge. Dr. Biles serves as Director and Learning Specialist to children with special needs and learning disabilities at Eagle's Nest Resource and Tutorial Service Center, located at Holy Cross Anglican Church in Loganville, GA. She has been a teacher, Director of Special Education, a chaplain, CEO/Director of The Little Red Schoolhouse for children who learn differently, CEO/Director of Eagles Nest Educational Resource & Tutorial Service Center, Program Consultant for Holy Cross Academy preschool, counselor, social worker, liason advocate for families who have a newborn with special needs, certified marriage counselor and Adjunct professor for Truett McConnell College where she taught Psychology 101, Exceptional Children and Intro to Education. She is an accomplished published musician, has received numerous honors and awards, has served on Boards and Committees, the list is endless!!! She has alot of insight about our children and what they need. She is an inspiring speaker and will talk to us about a wonderful program called Handwriting without Tears as well as how we can better help our children succeed in school.
