My son has been on Lexapro for a little over 8 weeks. At his recent

visit to the psychiatrist, he mentioned he had been feeling drowsy

during the day every day. His doctor decided to decrease his dosage of

Lexapro a little to help with the drowsiness. However, he hasn't had

any improvement in his OCD symptoms since he has been on the Lexapro.

So, his doctor wanted to add another medication that he said would

hopefully increase the effects of the Lexapro on his OCD symptoms. The

medication is Namenda, which actually is used for Alzheimers. He said

recent studies have shown it's effectiveness with OCD when combined

with an SSRI. I tried to find information on-line about Namenda.

Everything I find only mentions it's use with Alzheimers. What do you

know about Namenda and what is your opinion on it's use to treat OCD

symptoms?

Thank you

Connie
