Guest guest
OMG. Anya, I have true for you having had somewhat of a character assassination my self. I however didn't nor do I have the possibility of ruin or damage to what I do. In that I'm lucky. A simple hobbyist. Secondly. Your response was brilliantly executed, thoughtful, en pointe' and compassionate as well. Thats not easy to do but you did it with finesse, focus and have earned the right much longer before this to do what you do and teach what you teach and claim what you own and I have to commend you on such an eloquent piece of 'response. This could very well have turned out nasty and somewhat politcal in essence and you really balanced this very well. " Response " implies 'action' and not 'reaction' and I think you just proved a point that 'action' is much preferable. Action is thought out. Any thing less than that, 'reaction' would have simply been impulsive as well as dramatic. Oddly, once I found myself entering into this genre in a more serious manner, I never imagined how touchy, petty, and egotistical some people are and close minded and judgemental. and also, how many people feel they can take ones personal personal efforts and disrepect that by taking what is clearly not another's claim to notoriety irregardless of the extent. In fact we should all be on board , agree to disagree sometimes and know that at the end of the day we all have something in common that links us and that is passion for what we do, why we do it and you've shown clearly a pitfall that needed to be addressed across the board whether in Natural Perfumery but also soaping etc. and ethics in general. To balance my comments that addressed the negative side of human nature in such things, I have also found people who embrace each other, extend their hand to another to give them a hand UP , who have become good friends and created very postive alliances for me personally. This I think is the most common view we have but a negative seems to just pack a punch that obscures the greater positve. Hands down, the positive is the 'norm' in my honest and humble opinion. But you taught something in that 'response' and that is how best to balance our thoughts and emotions when once in a while something or someone becomes an obstacle with a potential for damage and you may have set the marker for that in ones approach. I do not know the lady nor do I know you. I can and do appreciate all people who have a passion for what they do because they are inspired. Inspiration is infectious. I also know many have much more knowlege, expertise and talent than I will ever rise to equality but aspire to. In that I have much gratitude. Perhaps this is our 'Achille's' heel, both a blessing and a curse eh? Whatever it was that started this I can see where I made things worse for myself in trying to explain a misunderstood comment and simply made the dad gummed thing worse.......sigh....... Perhaps now that this is out there we can all exhale and some kind soul will teach me how to appreciate florals LOL! Peace. S.P.

Holds true in all aspects of life. Thanks for the kind words. I officially have a twinge of carpal tunnel from responding to all the private emails I've received about that poor white witch. Hopefully, she'll learn to control her anger and impulses, or otherwise I fear damage to others in the community. Only one person links to her, the person " teaching " her class. Very sad indeed. I feel those urging her to be angry are using her, especially Camasi, who, like Ruth Ruane, stole the email list for this group (in 2005) to spam and try to steal the community I've build up here. Why? I guess they can't build one on their own, but mercy - stealing? Tsk. Half their " groups " are populated by innocents from here who joined when spammed, not realizing they were the objects of a planned attack. The community has rallied around me in ways I never expected. Several forum leaders have taken steps. Several students have offered, and I have decided to accept, an affidavit from them as to the date and quality of the revised Primer that was released. That's about it for what I wish to reveal now - except to thank G, A, A, E, J, K, T, P, L, N...and all the others who wrote. I'm only using their initials because I do not wish them to become targets of the white witch, which is possible. In the past, she called Guild members when they ask to have the links removed from nature's nexus. They don't understand if she hates the Guild and me so much why they would use their good names. It's all very confusing and murky, and I just say stay away. As I am doing - thanks to C and J and R and some others who urged me to go forward with the truth. Thanks again - it's created wonderful, positive, uplifting results! I forgot to mention - both Ruth Ruane and Camasi lurk here under fake names now. They have admitted so, either directly as Camasi did when she told people to join and " mine " (steal) info and Ruane, when I see she's clicked on blog links from her, ID'd from her IP. Poor things! Camasi admitting this publicly got her banned from a major online site. I guess they'll never learn :-( I hope this is the last I have to mention them, unless they move to try to harm/steal this community's energy again. Because I am sourcing established people in this world of some involvment in of perfumery and also natural I get confusedby the " creative liscense " taken by synthetic America on the use of the word NATURAL. Anyway I so believe in the persons right to INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY and so I give the talent permission to use thier DVD from the TV to do fund raising.(I have nothing else but perfume mud) This sounds like a result of the " wild wild west approach " to content on the web. Here is the question I want to ask of yourself and others. To what extent do you copyright your Trademarks, logos, perfume and company names? How do you register them and is there a follow-up or snoops agency or a company that would work just to moniter these infractions? I read that clean well patented the formula. Do you or anyone else patent your blend/formula? Fond regards to the maestra you know you are so compassionate and your action in this matter was so much like the gifted teachers I have known yet unique to your situation and ethic. (I am having trouble editing of late a real blabber mouth) Love to you please don't forget to rest and stretch your muscles the opposite way after computer work and take a break every 15 minutes, stand and stretch your hamstrings, back and psoas muscles (see what i mean) Bb

Guest guest
Here is the question I want to ask of yourself and others. Do you or anyone else patent your blend/formula? ******************************************************************* Hi there BB and other good NP people, I can't address this from a perfume perspective, but I have trademarked my lip balm line. I got a trademark for the company name and also the logo. You can also trademark the " trade dress " meaning the packaging. I didn't do that initially and kind of wish I did after another company ripped off my packaging artwork. It took quite some time to get the marks. You can file the forms yourself, but I used an attorney who specializes in intellectual property rights.(You can find his website in the links section under " Legal Resource.) Also check out the US Patent and Trademark website: http://www.uspto.gov My understanding is that you can't patent a cosmetic formula. So if somebody wants to analyze what's in your product and copy it, there's nothing stopping them. That's how we get those designer knock-off fragrances. Sad but true. They can't use your name of course if you have trademarked it. Hope this helps somewhat. Patty
Guest guest
Not yet. All I've ever done was buy the name you see at go daddy but thats not a guarantee of anything. There is something I am working on and really trying to enlist those who really do know what they are doing because I have a very personal vested interest in it and it is for also raising awareness of a deadly syndrome and in memory of my daughter.....I just haven't found that 'it' quality yet. So, I figure others do what I do and that is list the qualities or something, even color you associate with them or their personality and then get all 'abstract' and 'symbollic'.......so far that is bearing out and once that is done, if I can get it done I will ho at the Vatican to get that patented . that was a little joke that is tongue in cheek at my own expense since i graduated catholic school.
