What's the most unusual thing you tinctured or infused?

----------------------

A big green blob of something, I think a sponge, from the beach.

Also seashells fresh from the ocean. The spongy thing (sort

of oceanic scent)and the seashells (sharp and salty) both

turned out okay. Maybe I need to re-check them, it's been

over a year.

So how did the soil turn out? I've been meaning to offer to get

some soil for you up near Belle Glade. There are some areas

where they have organic fields.

Smoked seashells.

Unusual stuff that I want to try but still haven't:

Dirt (I've nearly started that several times in the last couple of

weeks, maybe today's the day...)

Doe urine

Cheers!

Hi Elise,

I am curious on the seashell tincture.

I just picked up seashells from the beach and would love to know just

how you did it!

Angi

Hi Angi -

I got small broken shells and put them in a jar, covered with Everclear

(95%) and I'm gently shaking them daily, or as often as I remember.

I'll probably leave it for a couple of weeks. Then I

pour off the alcohol and filter it through a coffee filter. It's

not a strong smell but I think it adds a little bit of sea smell.

Thanks Elise,

I am going to tincture them tonight!

I remembered you talking about it and since I went to the beach you

came up in my mind and there I was having a calm day with my husband

picking up broken pieces of seashells!

Amazing!!! and thanks for sharing!

Just ended up smelling like 'tincture d'armpitte'. I

added some as a fixative to the perfume made for the

person (whose hair was also that used for the

tincture).

It's okay. I definitely think that it added

'something' to the blend...

Cool! And really, using someone's own " dna " or whatever, that's a

great idea... Sort of a way to make that blend more totally theirs.

Cheers!

detected...might have to try that one again with repeated doses...(He'll

probaby object to me contiunually snipping his armpit hair though, grin)
