Guest guest
What sort of alcohol do you use, grape, grain, 190 proof, everclear, etc.? It's a big thorn in my side that so many people think they're allergic to alcohol (an incredible concentration of them live here in Portland) j **when in fact they're allergic to the various synthetic and toxic chemicals in mainstream perfume**. Folks hear 'perfume' and they think of the perfume counter at the department store, universally and justly reviled. My assistant was one such person. Until I had her try a couple of my perfumes, in organic 190-proof alcohol. She didn't even think to ask what material they were in. She tried them, was surprised how much she liked them, then went on to say she can't take alcohol. She was stunned when I told her both perfumes she'd just tried on were in alcohol; no skin reaction whatsoever. I really don't like oil or solid perfumes. I feel as though I'm a trumpet player and someone said OK now play only with a mute. So it bothers me that there's this unfounded and ill-informed aversion to alcohol. As I get ready to start offering my first few products for sale (aside from 1000 questions in general), I am consciously deciding not to offer solid or oil perfumes. I don't like them so I worry I wouldn't do my best with them. And my experience is that if you don't even talk about the medium (alcohol, oil, etc.) folks won't even stop to think about it. Thoughts?
