Vanilla : candles, flashpoints an essay of incense sugars and other essays

Hello Sheila, AFAIK, perfuming candles is a very special part of

perfumery, some plants have very low flashpoint, and would smell

horrible for candle scenting.

To know a bit more about that, you can have a look in the database

reasarch using the words candles, candle making.

Don't forget that you can perfume linden, and paper things by puting

them in a close box, with some vanilla beans.

And that Natural Perfumery is never far from cookery...

For instance

I let 3 or 4 vanilla beans in one pound of castor sugar, fructose,

and have in very short time the most exquisite vanilla sugar for

cooking and yoghourts. Don't hesitate using the most interesting

sugars, they deserve it.

For coffee, I let 2 vanilla beans and 2 cinnamom barks in it. My

favourite sugar !

I've another batch of perfumed sugar with cloves, pepper, cinnamom,

cardamom.

The interesting thing is that this sugar, if you add some nice oil,

you can use it for rubing under the shower, or in the bath,

your skin will adore it ! Same use with salt and honey !!!

I have found in an old book of my grandmothers and grandfathers (3

on 4 were schoolmasters, that burning a lump sugar is a good way to

refresh the house.

Actually, if you burn a sugar, it is really exquisite !!!!

Now, I have some sugars waiting in closed boxes, neighboured by

vanilla, cinnamom, dried lavender, vervein, and they wait, if burning

them is not interesting, I'm sure they will be delicious, so no waste.

You see, Natural Perfumery is a real fun, we are more than 1600 here,

so the only limits are in our brains
