Guest guest
Does anyone know of how I can get help from OSHA? I worked for a lawyer for 14 months. The first 8-9 months I worked out of her home in her basement. At about the 7th month mark her basement flooded, not once, but twice within 2-3 weeks. Shortly after the flooding happened I discovered black, fuzzy mold under my desk! I decided to tell my boss about the mold. She in turn told me that she could clean it up with peppermint soap! Somehow she agreed to move me out of the basement to another room two stories up. I continued to work for her (not in the basement) 5-6 months after the move but due to some problems I decided to leave working for her. Sometime in March '06 she got somebody to replace me. I have since been contacted by my " replacement " and she has told me some interesting things. She told me that right after she started to work for this lady, she (the boss) had her (the " replacement " ) clean the basement, mold and all! She was sick with a high fever and flew like symptoms for, I think she said, a week. Neither of us visited a doctor, not thinking that ilinesses we had gotten while working for her could have been caused by the black mold. Although I didn't go to a doctor, I do have pictures of flood damage and the mold that I found. So, my biggest concern is that she, my former boss, will get another person to work for her and make them work in the basement where I know that the mold issue hasn't been corrected. It my not be seen my the naked eye, but as you know - I'm sure, it is still there! Not only is mold an issue in her (the former boss) home, to tell the truth, the house is a death trap. It is a very old house (1930's) and is, in a nut shell, falling apart. Not only is a persons health in jeopardy here, so is their safty! Also, does anyone know if there is a time limitation for reporting this type of situation? I stopped working for her in March of 2006 and my " replacement " stopped, I think, in May of 2006. Thank you, in advance, for any help that anybody can give me. Blessed5x
