Tincturing of Champaca and Jasmine

I'm into my second week of tincturing Jasmine Sambac and Champaca (separately).

I've just

refreshed the flowers and the fragrance is really beginning to show.

A couple of Snapple bottles which were just the right size!

I'm using a standard denatured alcohol but the tincture has a slight metalic

smell. Would

this be due to the metal from the bottle lid?

Should I remove all storks from the flowers before adding them to the alcohol?
