I've used in cooking it's exceptional.

We have plenty of it here, its a bit expensive because most of the

process is done by hand.

Over here it is also expensive, I bough just a few stigmas for 4 euros

in the supermarket!

So here I am anxiously waiting for all of them to blossom.

The weather here in europe is still very hot and helps to blossom I

guess!

Maggie,

Are you able to obtain everclear or undenaturated alcohol in your

country.

I am in portugal but I cant seem to get over here. I am still using

alcohol denaturated (for experiment only). The others I used oil such

as jojoba, almond and infusion.

We have so many winery here but I have not been able to obtain

190proof grape alcohol.

Anyone got any idea where I should look for?

Hi Angi,

I buy pure alcohol from the pharmacy it's made from Grape alcohol. I called the

company

and asked them and they also told me it was organic.This type of alcohol is very

expensive.

I still buy it and make small batches. If you want I could give you the

company's number

and maybe they could ship a few liters.

Try using saffron in white rice before you drain it.

Definitely perfume your jasmine or basmati rice! The persian way is to

pulverize the stamens (enough to create about 1/8 tsp of powder) in a

mortar and pestle and then add hot water to dissolve the saffron and

pour it over a cup or so of rice and use that to decorate your white

rice. I usually make a saffron cross on top of the heap of white

rice. Persians eat alot of rice!

Next time I will try it in Basmati never thought of using there because it

already has a great aroma.
