I'd like to add benzoin in my flower tinctures as fixative but I'm not sure whether it can be diluted in alcohol since it's very thick. (I use 95% ethanol.) I saw that many members recommended the dilution in oil but I'd like to make an alcohol-based perfume. Do I have to warm the resinoid before putting it in alcohol? Thanks so much, Sangkae

Hi Adam, I just add Benzoin resinoid in 95% ethanol and it's diluted fine :-) BTW, I add 2.5 ml. of my Benzoin 10% in Champaca tincture (abt 40 ml.) and the whole liquid turns cloudy! Just don't know why. Have you ever used Benzoin as fixative in your flowers tinctures and did this happen? Thanks, Sangkae
