Guest guest
I also prefer Prednisone to the bad symptoms but I have managed to wean off by going down one mg at a time or sometimes only half a mg. However, I have heard that 5 mg is a low dose and can be taken long-term without significant damage or side effects. Guest guest
I have heard that 5 mg is a low dose and can be taken long-term without significant damage or side effects. My sister-in-law received a kidney transplant 25 years ago, and has been on prednisone the entire time. She's taking 5 mg. now. She said the only side effect she has noticed is thinner skin and a rounder face. Bone density tests are normal. Sierra
Guest guest
Hi, I haven't been on in awhile, but have been coming and checking things every now and again. I fought the prednisone left and right because it seems I just balloon overnight and tend to get really mean on the higher doses. The pain got so bad that I put myself back on it but only taking 5 mg a day and it has helped so much and the side effects are minimal on this amount. I can actually control my appetite! I don't feel like I need to eat everything in the house. I know how happy you were to just be able to get some relief from the prednisone. Take care. -- In Rheumatoid Arthritis , <hvantuyl@c...> wrote: > I also prefer Prednisone to the bad symptoms but I have managed to wean off by going down one mg at a time or sometimes only half a mg.
