Evie asks:

Which essences/accords/ perfumes strike you as masculine? Which

feminine? Are they all unisex or are there exceptions to your nose?

Unisex: Amyris, Ambergris(to me this leans slightly towards feminine), Hyrax,

Jasmine Grandiflorum, most citruses, Clary Sage, Patchouli, Sandalwood(Mysore is

a little more feminine with its powdery softness and Australian is a bit more

masculine to me, it being to my nose more aggressive, spicy and woody, and

Vanuatu being between the two), Neroli, Ho Wood, Coriander, Cepes, Opoponax,

Rosemary, Orris, Mimosa, Benzoin, Labdanum(I think a little more towards the

feminine), Seaweed, Frangipani, Cinnamon, Nutmeg,  Lavender

Feminine: Ylang Ylang, Jasmine Sambac, Rose, Tuberose, Carnation, Vanilla,

Balsam Peru, Balsam Tolu, Champaka, Cassie, Civit, Clementine, Almond, Cacao,

Litsea Cubeba, Copaiba, Geranium, Rosewood, Palmarosa, Myrhh, Saffron, Butter,

Tonka, Lotus

Masculine: Lime, Tobacco, Oakmoss, Pine, Spruce, Fir, Cedar(all kinds),

Marjoram, Vetiver, Agarwood, Spikenard, Galbanum, Castoreum, Choya Loban,

Cardamom, Allspice, Clove, Ginger, incense, Mandarin, Lemongrass, Coffee,

Hay, Juniper
