What essences/accords/ perfumes strike you as most " appropriate " for

winter, as opposed to warmer seasons? What smells does cold weather

remind you of, people, places, activities, etc?

For me it has to be the incensey warm scents as well as forest green

.....aromas that encompass and envelop are seductive and deep.all good wishes,

For me I want a touch of

1.Fir, Balsam or pine

sweetened with a citrus pettigrain or orange

touch of cinnamin fixed in patchouli maybe

2 frankencense and myrhh with spikenard

but gee then you have to add galbanum or labdanum .

Peppermint, spearmint, wintergreen, birch, all conifers: cedar, pine, spruce,

juniper, fir. They all remind me of winter, cold, and evergreen forests and

Christmas trees.  Even clary sage has a bit of that going on too.  Rosemary too.

Believe it or not, I think snow has a scent too, although hard to describe

other than " cold " .

The spices too, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, allspice, ginger, and vanilla.  Orange,

mandarin, and tangerine. Chocolate, of course, because of hot chocolate.

I dont' associate resinous smells in and of themselves, other than the resins of

conifers, with winter.   For some reason I associate those scents more with

fall.  I do associate Oriental fragrances with winter, not only because I think

thats when they are most appropriately worn, but because I've always worn them

for Christmas.
