Guest guest
Hi everyone, had a hectic weekend with many celebrations centred around food (what else is new?). Stayed on track for the most part, but my free day (Sat) I definitely went overboard, beyond what I had planned. But I've picked myself up, dusted myself off and I'm right back on track. It IS possible! lol Here was my insane free day: Breakfast pretty healthy with eggs/cottage cheese/fruit/ww pancakes. Took dd to a birthday party, had a slice of homemade decadent chocolate cake (couldnt resist, her father is a chief chef at a downtown gourmet restaurant). I actually felt ill from eating this, so lunch was a big salad with grilled chicken. Afternoon snack on track with c.cheese and some kashi. Dinner started out ok, ham/steamed cauliflower & asparagus, small serving of scalloped potatoes (passed on croissants, alcohol). We celebrated 2 birthdays, so had homemade german chocolate cake & icecream. Then I broke down and had easter chocolates....I ended the evening with some cottage cheese. OK, this is a crazy amount of food, sugar, junk and I havent eaten like this since Christmas. I negotiated with my dh Sat night so that I could go for a fasted run the next morning to do HIIT. The kids did the easter egg hunt in our living room Sun morning and I had a cup of coffee. While my dh made breakfast, I did a HIIT run at our local park. I havent done this before and it was INCREDIBLE. There are crazy hills in the park and I just ran up and down for 20 mins. My face stayed red until noon that day!! lol I had a healthy breakfast, snack, lunch (sushi, so some white rice, oh well), missed afternoon snack due to 'timing'. I had another Easter dinner with my family, but stayed on track for the most part. Skipped alcohol, gravy, dressing, ham. Stuck to steamed veg (some starchy, but reasonable servings), turkey. I made two pies that morning (pumpkin & apple) for my family. I had a sliver of pumpkin, tasted the inside of my apple, and a sliver of plain cheesecake (brother's specialty). Not really a perfect day, but I felt really in control!! Passed on tarts, date squares, ice cream. Ended evening with a serving of cottage cheese. I feel freaking great today! After my sugar high on Saturday, I felt pretty rough on Sunday morning. But the run felt great, and I was so on track Sunday with my eating becuase of this. I am surrounded by chocolate bunnies, peeps, cream eggs, jelly beans, etc etc and none of it is tempting me. BFL feels good. Off to do my UBW over lunch. Happy belated Easter everyone!
