I use styrax in everything. Only 1-2 drops for a 15 or 30 ml brew. If a person can smell the styrax in a finished brew, the given perfume is a failure IMO. I use it as a fixative, and to give some substance to a perfume, subtle and undetectable. Looking at my recipes, it appears to work best with amber-type brews, as the amber ingredients easily dominate. If I didn't use styrax, I probably used costus. Ambrette, ambergris, and styrax or costus are sort of given for me. Is your styrax from Eden? I need to buy some of theirs.

Guest guest
And to ask a stupid question, are we talking about Styrax Benzoin, or Styrax - Liquidambar orientalis :-) Kiler

The former is what we know of as benzoin I think.
