In my humble opinion, everyone is different and will respond and change in

different ways and at different rates. I went from a size 16 to a size 2/4, not

in 12 weeks, but I was not trying for a dramatic transformation. I made small

changes that I knew I could live with for my whole life. If you're really

looking to change for good, the weight will come off, but why the rush? Maybe

that's not the answer you're looking for, but how many weeks have you been

working at BFL? What does meal/ exercise plan look like? What were your starting

stats? Are you taking a free day? There are many things that can influence how

fast a transformation takes place. has some info on her site about how to

have a dramatic transformation.

more than 50 pounds which I

don't think is possible in 12 weeks. Do any of you know of someone who

went from say a Size 20 to a 10? That's what I'm trying to do. I began

the challenge in April and I am having some success but I am still far

from a transformation? Any Big Women Success Stories out there?

Thanks. Nolu

Hi Nolu,

I was at a size 20 and #200 for my highest.

A committment to BFL has gotten me to size 10 and #154 (as of this

morning). I almost hate to tell you, but for me, there were injuries

and setbacks. My size goals were not met in even 2 or 3 challenges,

but I will say that my self esteem and energy level went way up after

losing just the first 20 pounds :)

I plan on getting to a comfortable size 8 or 6, as my goal is to get

rid of the cellulite on my thighs.

The interviews on Body Changers gave me lots of tips and encouragement

for the BFL principles.

Here are some " big girls " that made big changes.

You might want to throw in some fun, or gentle cardio sessions. Most

people are out there walking or taking a yoga class most days of the

week to bump up their progress.

It's a lifestyle. You'll get there.

Best wishes as you work toward your goals.

I was looking at the BFL website and noticed a page of success stories

I'd never seen before. It's featured challengers from the first round

of 2006. There are some great transformations, and a couple of people

who lost 29 pounds in 12 weeks.

Nolu,

I went from a 22-24 down to size 8 - 10 in approximately 1 year, 80

pounds lost. In the second year, I went from that 8 - 10 down to what

I am now which is a 2 - 4, sometimes a six depending on brand. Over

those two years, I lost 93 pounds scale weight, but I've gained muscle

which puts the total fat loss over 100 pounds.

Doing Body for Life and reading this site - these gals on here are

great for information and inspiration.

So - let me take a moment to thank everyone who, over the past two

years, have posted and inspired me to move forward. I'm a lurker to the

nth degree, but finally had to chime in. I signed up for Tracker

today, too. I haven't really stepped outside my comfort zone with this

up until now because I am so embarrased by my beginning starting place,

but I learned something a couple days ago. I need to get over it!

That person no longer exists and if I can help someone get to the point

where I am now, then it's worth sharing my story.

I'm in my 10th challenge right now - finishing up in 4 weeks. This

time I am sending in my packet!

It doesn't sound like your expectations are to go from a 20 to a size

10 in 12 weeks, which is good…because as I'm sure you know it won't

happen! I myself started at a size 20, last year on Jan. 17. I was

239 lbs. & 39% body fat. At my last official weigh in I was 169

(which is pretty good since I stand 5'11) & 22% body fat. I'm now

into a size 10. My first challenge I dropped 23 lbs in scale weight

and 4% body fat. I could probably make faster changes if I stuck to

the plan all the time, didn't make mistakes, didn't cheat or slip…

but this is real life and we're all human. I do know that what I'm

doing day in and day out is something I can and will continue to do

for the rest of my life. They've been changes I can live with and

stick with. I could ramble on and on about the changes in my life,

the impact being healthy and happy with myself has had but it's truly

a journey all your own! Enjoy it! And as Porter Freeman told me

(yes, I've been lucky enough to meet him and other BFL winners) " Live

it! "

WOW, 70 pounds in 6 months!!! That's amazing. I looked at your pics.

You carried 223 pounds really well for a woman of your height, but

your current pics are FANTASTIC.

find her :( Oh, help. Actually, I don't know how to do anything at

tracker...

Oh My Gosh!!! Thank you so much!

The few people in real life who knew my true weight said they couldn't believe I

weighed that much either. My weight is pretty much evenly distributed. If you

really look you can see my upper arms are huge, I have no jaw line, my belly is

sitting in my lap and you can't even see my rhino rump or thunder thighs in the

picture.

Thanks again,

a
