Guest guest
Does anyone have any imput on the Leanness Lifestyle. I signed up for the free month, and really like the web site, although I wont keep it once I have to pay $41 a month! It suggested that I do zig/zag days without a freeday. (ugh no free day!) Also, when I put some of my BFL or ediets meals into, several of them came up as " not ideal " or " splurge " . It seems similiar to BFL, but more restrictive. Guest guest
Leanness Lifestyle is similar to BFL in that it's intense exercise and clean bodybuilding nutrition. It's a lot more involved though - counting calories, weighing and measuring food, zig-zagging high and low calorie days, quite a bit of cardio, no free day, more aggressive calorie restriction. It definitely works if you can take it. Some people thrive on that level of detail and some people completely wig out. I see an awful lot of people coming away from the whole LL experience with more extreme expectations, lower self-esteem, and a lot of shiny new obsessive tendencies. Like maybe they went into it wanting to get below 20% body fat for a vacation, but they come away from it feeling like they're a big hopeless cow unless they're under 12% and stage-ready. It can lead to that thing where you're either doing everything perfectly, or you're rebound bingeing out of control. I'm not saying LL is bad or that it doesn't work. It can definitely get you really lean really quickly and give you the skills to stay that way. I'm just saying that if you're somebody who's struggled with food/emotion/self-esteem issues in the past, approach LL with a little caution and common sense. If all of your alarm bells start going off, put the food scale down and back away slowly. :-) > Does anyone have any imput on the Leanness Lifestyle. Guest guest
I agree with . It is very detailed and you must eat a 40/20/20 ratio. That does not work for everyone. Also it can make you over obssess about food. And once you've hit your " goal " you kind of feel lost because you are maintaining. I think it really depends on each person individually. I do not want to be that restrictive with my food. > > Does anyone have any imput on the Leanness Lifestyle. Guest guest
I did the free month too. I personally think he¹d have more clients if the monthly price were lower - <my inner marketing person speaking, but then he didn¹t hire me>. The food tracker may tell you that it¹s a splurge but it if fits for you then you can enter whatever you want. I remember putting my chocolate protein and oatmeal standard breakfast in there and it told me it was a splurge. If I lowered the amount of oatmeal from 1/2 cup to 1/3 cup, it approved. Still to this day I use 1/3 because of that - which is silly I know, but then I¹m easily influenced. It is more restrictive calorie wise and very specific about how long to exercise, which was one of the best things I learned from it that helped me. If you¹re not getting the results you¹d hoped for then it¹s a good way to raise awareness and adjust things. I found it was a helpful learning tool. I¹ve also learned that we can have too many helpful learning tools and forget which info came from where when you¹re mixing and matching! At one point I thought my head would explode and I¹ve simplified since then. Laurie > Does anyone have any imput on the Leanness Lifestyle. Guest guest
That's a good plan. It does have a lot of good info and helpful tools. Learn everything you can. Run all of your meals through the calculators. Plan a bunch of workouts. Gather all of the concepts that fit with your approach, but disregard or modify anything that feels like it would set you up for obsession and misery. You want to be able to KEEP whatever changes you make. Somebody once told me (regarding diet/nutrition) not to start anything that I wasn't willing to keep doing for the rest of my life. That was good advice. It kept me from a lot of extreme diets and twice-a-day gym routines. Instead, I made permanent lifestyle changes. > > , > Thanks for the insight - im definitly someone with food/self esteem issues.
