Guest guest
Hello Everybody I'm from Indonesia. Agarwood what is that? people may don't have or may have a little knownlegde about it. Agarwood or also known as gaharu or aloeswood or the japanese name it as jinko or kyara. This substance is a formation of resin found in Aquilaria spp, Grynops spp, Dalbergia Parfivolia, Aetoxylon Sympethalum also Aexcoecarria Agalocha. These trees is infected with certain fungus for several years or even several hundred of years. As means of defense the agarwood resin producer trees produce resin to protect themselves from mortal danger. This what eventually known as agarwood. Agarwood is higly priced in the eastern and middle eastern countries. It's sophisticated aroma give people a mysterious ways to give calmness in mind. And relaxing the body and the soul. From 100 trees of agarwood producing resin trees in the wild only 10 that had resin. Since the forming of agarwood take minimum 3 years. It was priced like gold. Guest guest
what a shame. i was blessed to receive a gift of several drops of this and knew instantly this was special.....its a haunting scent......and then i looked it up and thank goodness i was sitting down....... my fear is i wont know how to use it or should i use it but either way its not leaving my house without me attached to it.....at least thru me you guys get to experience the wonder of things thru new eyes and noses much like I see life again thru my wee ones eyes...... is it possible for this to grow in the U.S.? I know the japanese grow a lot of gingko in south carolina as this area is sub tropical. My daughter shared this with me after she left for south korea.........little stink......i would have loved fresh gingko to make serums etc with.. but if this tree you speak of is a non invasive type, could it be possible ? I know some things one must be careful in planting in a non native area (think kudzu) and critters too (think egrets) but something like this......how lovely would that be to have a nursery of exotic trees and plants well contained for perfumery and medicines! for the rest of you, is there a tree in the U.S that has a resinous property we can harverst if it naturally has the resin visable and we leave enough to keep the tree safe? evie
Guest guest
Hello , I just wanted to make a quick correction about the term " attar " It is a vast term and can be used for anything that smells good, be it made in France or UAE or India. In India they use the term attar but many times will be pure EO. For instance Agarwood Attar is usually Agarwood Oil steaped in Sandalwood Oil. It is not pure Agarwood nor pure Sandalwood but it is pure EO non the less. In the Middle East the word attar is more expansive and can be used for pure EO or synthetic based. I believe Oriscents Agarwood Attar was pure EO just not pure Agarwood EO.
