Guest guest
, I was wondering with your higher calorie days of Weds & Sat, are you losing weight? Or just maintaining? I have been unable to have a full clean week on BFL, I am binger and a cheater. I've read 's article and tried to the take the advice of everyone, but I'm still cheating. So I was thinking of trying your system but I really do want to lose too! Thanks, Robin
Guest guest
Robin, yes this method of calorie cycling actually got me to start losing some weight but mostly FAT. I was stuck at the same weight and my bodyfat % was actually going up when I followed a lower calorie approach 6 days/week. But that is me, so not everyone should follow this approach. My body reacted a certain way (as well as my state of mind!), so I tried something a little different. When I was following BFL 6 days and having a free day, it was basically an extreme BINGE day, followed by guilt and negative self talk. I was not losing doing that program. *But I do believe BFL works, so I don't want to screw people up!* I also have BFFM and the suggested option from Tom Venuto is to eat low a few days and up every 3rd day. So I figured I would try that. No matter what you do, you MUST have a sufficient calorie defecit overall or you WILL NOT LOSE FAT. By eating 700 fewer calories than my estimated maintenance X 5 days, that should give me about 3500 calories less = 1 lb of fat (ideally). I went from 125 lbs Jan 1 to 116 lbs today following this method. Up to 2 weeks ago, I was down 12 lbs of fat and up 3 lbs lean mass. So really I've lost more than just 9 lbs. Recently I've hit a bit of a plateau and I'm trying to figure out what to do. The thing is you have to eat healthy, natural unprocessed foods most of the time. You need to balance your meals. You need to exercise hard and focus when doing interval training and weights. There is no magic with this, just plain hard work, perserverence and consistency. We all expect immediate results, but things don't really work that way. You need to figure out how to manage your junk food cravings and only you can do that. My method may or may not work for you. >>>>>> I was wondering with your higher calorie days of Weds & Sat, are you losing > weight? Or just maintaining?
