Lea,

I got bit all around both ankles (right where my socks end) about 10 days

ago, and I was SO itchy it seemed to me like poision ivy or something, but they

are very distinct, separate bumps, but I was complaining yesterday how itchy

and how long they are lasting!!! Odd!

I have been reading all the emails about insects bites and I find it very

interesting. Before you got Stills were any of you extra sensitive to

mosquitoes or other insect bites. My daughter always was. I was always

careful

and to even put Avon's Skin So Soft in her bath when she was young - that

seemed to help. Why do you think NOW that you are having a stronger reaction

to

bites. Is it just that your immune system is, for lack of a better word, out

of sorts.

Stills is so peculiar and I am just beginning to learn about it. It would be

wonderful if someone could really figure this all out.

For those who have answered my questions about . --- She did go back to

Austin for school, It has been a challenge but so far she is managing. She

is on Kineret MTX, plaquenil and pred. but I am wondering if the only one

that is working is pred. I don't know how in the world you know until you try

to get off. So far no side effects. YEA She dropped her predisone on morning

accidentally and started to swell and hurt immediately.

My prayers are with you all.

Sanford,

This is just a layman's idea but I seem to get a similar reaction to the

spider bites and I am wondering if the venom being so poisonous causes our

antibodies to kick into overdrive and causes the Still's to flare? Like

throwing the whole system at it instead of just a site reaction. My wolf

spider bite last week left me very dehydrated although I was drinking

constantly and dizzy for three days and a nice small deep hole in my back.

It has healed now and so that is how I know it was that darned wolf spider

and not something more serious like another recluse but this could be what

is happening I am thinking.

I hope your feeling better soon. Thank you for sharing.

Tuesday night I bitten by a Yellow JacketBut--- -- within 10 minutes I felt

my left wrist

start to hurt, the pain got worse and worse

This continued into the night, the next morning I

was so achey, I almost couldn't get out of bed. My wrist hurt like a

dickens and felt swollen.

My body is no longer as achey, but my wrist did

receive some damage, even just from 1 day of attack.

The key to this

here, and I hoping someone will take notice ( I have a call into my Rhumy

@ Mayo) is that there maybe a relationship to Yellow Jacket venom and

Still's. Else, maybe it is just a catalyist.
