Guest guest
Hello and welcome ,First a big thank you for the sacrifices you and your family have made to serve our country! Please know how many of us appreciate it.Your husband's family farm in TN sounds wonderful. Although the Springs is a beautiful place I am sure 2012 can't come fast enough for you to be able to move to TN.From the research I have done, your area of CO seems to have a lot of farms. We plan to drive out your way this spring to shop at your local farmer's market.Again, welcome to the group. Never miss a thing. Make Yahoo your homepage. Guest guest
Hi ! You and I hail from the same areas of the country! I lived in SW Virginia (near the NC and TN borders) for 8 years and just moved to Colorado Springs in Oct of 2006 with my husband. We plan on moving back to VA in 2009. The produce here is awful and it's difficult to grow your own. Last year my garden was pummeled by hail. There is a raw daily in Ellicot (Isle farms). I haven't started yet, but plan on getting a share there. Guest guest
and Tammy, Thanks for your kind words! Yes, we do have quite a few farmer's markets here; we also plan to go this summer. The owner of that farm will be the guest speaker at the next WAPF meeting I wrote about in my intro post. It seems the cost of raw milk in this area is much more than in TN. I'm very surprised at the price difference. I checked on goat milk and it's as expensive as cow milk! I thought it would be less? I know about the hail; it killed a young tree in our yard last year. 3 years ago it destroyed my husband's truck and required new body parts and a complete paint job! About $5,000 worth of damage. Thanks for your replies! Blessings, > > > > Hello and welcome , > > > > First a big thank you for the sacrifices you and your family have > made to serve our country! > > Please know how many of us appreciate it. > > > > Your husband's family farm in TN sounds wonderful. Guest guest
Thank you! We'll be in south central TN, just 15 minutes or so above Huntsville, AL. Are you near Shelbyville? I looked on Mapquest and found 3 town's in TN. > > > > Hello to all! Guest guest
Donna, Thanks for your kind words! Yes, it is south west of Manchester. The 'big city' there is Winchester. Lucky you! Our pastor left our family church in Belvidere, went to pastor in Cookeville, and now pastors in Walling. Blessings to you! Welcome, ! Is it Belvidere, Tn? Is it the same one that is close to Manchester? That is a nice area...not too far from where we are right now. We are in Rock Island, Just outside of McMinnville, right now, but will be moving to our farm, in Gainesboro, not too far from Cookeville, soon. I sure can't blame you for looking forward to coming home to Tennessee! We love it! It sounds like you have a wonderful place to call home... I'm sure you are right, in that the raw dairy will do nothing but help you on your journey to better health! I hope all goes well for you! I appreciate the military service that your family has been willing to give! Thank you! Blessings, Donna~ TN~
Guest guest
, You're very welcome! Wow...your Pastor is, and has been, all around us! Lol lol...yeah..."big city!" We are looking forward to being close to Cookeville. It's not huge, but it beats McMinnville by a mile, as far as having things we want at the grocery store, having a health food store, etc. I grew up in Nashville, but I DON'T like big cities at all. We love the Tennessee country! I have a couple of dairy goat boarders that live in the Cookeville area. They both have children that can only drink raw goat milk. It is so rewarding to be able to help them! A friend of mine and I are hoping to start a Weston A. Price Foundation chapter there, also. Anyway...enjoy the list!
