Guest guest
Elly: I'm sorry I haven't answered you yet but it's been a bad day and then I had to work. I've saved your posting and will answer you in the morning, I promise. Right now I'm typing with lots of drugs in me and very little sleep (agai). Lots to contend with here but I'll go into that another time. Take care and be well. Just wanted to let you know I didn't forget you. Guest guest
Well it started with winds greater than I expected. I took my daughter and her friend out for the afternoon to a paint pottery type place. Well, I had to cut it a bit short cause the winds looked worse than I expected...plenty of rain and then that night while watching TV ( about 10pm) a black out!! Next day all was well... We needed the rain here . Everything was very very dry. Thanks for asking and may all the storms down there be brief!! Hugs Liz Oh Ps I now have the kind of arthritis that is effected by the weather. In the past, the weather had nothing to do with it and it drove me nuts when people would say that. **************Psssst...Have you heard the news? Guest guest
Ellen, I am smiling as I type this because I have to tell you that every time I read one of your emails, no matter who it is directed to, I feel like you are sending out hugs. I really feel like you just wrapped your arms around me. I think it must be all the " honeys " in your messages. Whatever it is, keep it up. You are as sweet as they come and I appreciate it. What you may have missed was that my dear grandmother died the day before we put Longfellow to sleep. HORRIBLE week. However, I believe the timing must have made it easier to some degree. I loved that dog so much, but that love was just a drop in the bucket compared to the love for my Granny, whom I never lived more than 15 miles from my entire life. She was the rock that kept our family steady, and her passing was very very difficult. With both of these happening at the same time, it helped me to keep the loss of my dog in perspective. That being said, we had a laugh with our daughter. We decided that maybe Granny needed a dog in Heaven, but when she got Longfellow up there she probably couldn't get him to come to her no matter what she called him! (ahhh the challenges of deaf dogs!) Thanks again for the warm wishes. You are a sweetheart and an asset to this group. Stay Healthy
Guest guest
my dear, Thank you. After the week I've had you've just brought me a ray of sunshine and I appreciate it. Darling, I'm sorry about your Grandmother - Wow! A week you had...never mind the week, it's enough to send you reeling. Honey, once again, I'm here - sending hugs (love that!). I know what's like. We " lost " Dad six months ago, our bird three months ago and almost lost Ricky last month (he's OK now). As for your Granny having Longfellow (love the name) she'll set him straight! Like you, I'm sure, I've grown up with dogs and other animals, Dad was a dog obedience trainer among other things and we all " studied " pet burievement (sorry about the spelling)and the effects on the family. I'm no professional, believe me, but I'm here and willing to listen. Take care and be well. Ellen
