Hoegger Supply has new ones (online or via catalog.

If you don't mind a used one, I know this lady that might have a couple

old-fashion types to sell, they work and are complete, all stainless

steel & very clean, but they are just kind of old. Are you looking for

a table top size or a stand-up model? Do you want a hand-crank or

electric? Oh, and where are you located?

I currently use a seperator on a regular basis. It's great for

making ice cream, low fat cheese, butter, you name it. Once you

figure it out (or are shown how to assemble it) it's really easy.

It's kind of like putting together a puzzle (but an easy one). They

break down completely, so you can really get everything clean. I use

an electric, but they both have their advantages. In the electric

one you can have problems with the motor (just as with any electric

appiance), but the hand-crank one, well, it's hand-cranked and while

you could do it with one person, it's much easier with two.

So, I talked to the lady that has the seperators. She has a couple

table top hand crank models that would probably ship pretty easy and

she is asking $100 for them, plus the actual shipping cost. She said

she wasn't sure they were stainless steel, but she will take a look

at them and get back to me. Whatever material they are, it is

specifically for dairy products and so nonporous. She also has

several stand-up models, both electric and handcrank. They are all

stainless steel and she is asking $150 for them, but the problem

with them is shipping. The bases are very heavy, so shipping is not

really an option, they would have to be trucked or something. She is

located in Southern California.

Another thing to do, which is how she accumulated so many, is go to

those garage sales at the old farms near you. All those old farms

used to have a cow or two, so they would have one to get cream to

make butter. Grandma's old cream seperator doesn't usually hold much

interest for most people, so they sell them at a reasonable price.

The only problem with that is you don't know if they work or are

complete unless you know what you are doing.

If anyone is interested in a seperator, email me with your contact

information and I will pass it along to the seperator lady.

Hope that helps,

Micah
