I can only speak for myself and some people that I have met to say the

future can be very good for some. My onset was very bad and I did move a

lot! That means a lot! And it usually caused me joint and flare problems,

but my long term future was good and my disease went slowly into remission

over the past 31 years and is in remission now. I think the most important

thing to try is to rest and protect your joints as much as possible. That is

where I have any problems today. The joint damage of the early severe onset

and any damage or injuries to my joints over the years since where the

arthritis has taken over.

I hope this helps you to have a smoother move, just let others help you as

much as you have help and rest as much as you can and leave the heavy stuff

to someone else for sure.

Best of luck,

HELLO I HAVE HAD STILLS FOR 13 YEARS . IT IS A BEST A CHALLENGE TO WORK.

YOU ARE ABLE TO COMPLETE MANY THINGS IFYOU DO A LOT OF PLANING.

PLANING SEEMS TO RELEAVE A LOT OF THE STRESS. DON'T TACKLE STRENEOUS

TASKS BY YOUR SELF.

MOVING IS A BIG  DEAL!  STOP AND REST REGARDLESS OF WHAT IS WAITING TO BE DONE.

IT WILL GET DONE IN TIME  PACE YOUR DAY.  DONT  EAT A LOT OF FAST FOOD AVOID

ARTIFICIAL SWEETENERS AND  ARTIFICIAL COLOR ADDITIVES IN YOUR FOOD.  REDS AND A

LOT OF SUGAR AND CERTAIN VEGGIES LIKE  F FRIES AND PEANUTS MAKE YO8U HURT WORSE.

IT TAKES SOME MANAGING BUT YOU CAN DO IT .

Dear Barbara,

Welcome to the group,

I have to say that we are not doctors and do not give advice here about what

to eat and medications or treatments to get. We share experiences and what

has worked for us but do not tell others what to do. Please keep this in

mind when posting to the group.

Thank you and good day,

Since you are in remission, do you stay on some medication or were you able to

get completly off. Since you have had this for such a long time, and meds have

changed what meds did you take initially.

Hi Lea,

My initial medications for Still's were the Prednisone the highest dose

being 60mg a day and then when admitted by the FDA D-Penacillamine or also

called Cupramine put my Still's in to remission. I have always been on an

anti inflammatory and still am today. I've taken many types but my trusty

Naprosin has always worked the best and once for a couple of years DayPro

worked well for me too. I did have a nine month course of Remicade and

Methotrexate a couple of years ago but didn't need it long as my flare was

not too intense compared to the initial years. So just Naprosin twice a day

now and of course something for my stomach. These medications can play bad

on our stomachs with use and we must be always careful of that I think. My

doctor has always advised me of this anyway. Of course there have been many

medications to treat the other symptoms of Still's and side effects of

medications as well but those are the big gun ones. Hope it has helped.

Best regards,
