Guest guest
I went for my monthly visit and the MTX must be working again b/c my CBC was down to 8,900. It hasn't been anywhere near that low in a couple years. Now down to 5 mgs a day of Pred, hoping to get off that soon. Problem is, and I know others have dealt with this too is... clinically, I'm great. Physically, on the other hand... I feel like dog doo. I am hoping it's a combination of Pred withdrawals and the change in weather, but I have found that I can have symptoms even when labs are good. I hate that, b/c the docs scratch their heads and say, but you're blood work is fine. Oh well... I'll take it. Hope everyone else is doing well. Guest guest
Gail honey, I tried to respond to this earily but my computer was playing games with me so I don't know if it went through. Honey, your blood work could show you're in perfect working order, it's happened to me, but you feel as though you're aching, and just plain icky. There are times perhaps, you don't have inflamation or nothing measureable yet your joints hurt so bad you could cry. Personally, I get headaches that feel almost like my bones are being crushed, still there's nothing for the chiropractor to adjust. The point is, though we rely on our doctors, they don't always have all the answers. I'm glad your blood work is good and the MTX is working; I'm sorry about these other symptoms you're experiencing. Just a suggestion, hon, but maybe your body is telling you to rest before it has a flare. Maybe your brain is telling you, you're overwhelmed. Maybe, just maybe, though everything is " fine " your feeling the weather outside that's coming your way. Honey, there could be a thousand and one reasons and more why you're feeling pained. Stop second guessing and go rest. Our bodies have great ways to talk with us if we'd only listen. Now, enough of the computer. Finish what you're doing and go relax. Take care and be well. Guest guest
Gail, My RD always tells me that the " Labs do not always tell the whole story " . and She bases things on how I feel and the questions that she asks around how I feel. She considers the labs to be a tool and not gospel. Sometime I think the meds may supress the different analytes initially and our body just has to catch up. But at any point we may hurt like you know what. Tom, I can have symptoms even when labs are good. I hate that, b/c the docs scratch their heads and say, but you're blood work is fine. > > Gail (KY) >

Guest guest
Hello Gail! I have the exact problem as you. My last contact with my reumy he said that my bloodworks was surpriseling good! (ok my whites was a bit high but it have been like that for a long time) And the housedoc I was at for my throat-infection looked at old bloodworks and find out my calium and magnesium levels is a bit low. And noone had told me that before. not even my reumy. My housedoc also said that they cant focus on bloodtest when dealing with Stills, they have to learn to see the hole picture of it. He also said if the bloodworks is fine it can mean that they have missed something! I also think when your bloodworks is around normal (to high or to low). It can be read as normal for one doc but another doc think its to high or to low. If you know what I mean. Dont know if you getting any wiser about this but hope you continue going the right way!
