Guest guest
My fellow Stilligans, I have some sad news to share. I have been coping with the illness and loss of a dear friend. She had aspergillosis for a year, lost five ribs and one lung to the mold and then developed cancer in the remaining lung. She was a really good friend and we buried her yesterday beneath the oaks of her family cemetery. I just needed to get all the funeral formalities behind me and then I thought I could come to my stilligans and pour out my broken heart. But you know what I found when I checked in? New people and squabbling. Fighting about politics?? Oh Please, this group is so far above this kind of political ranting! Did I miss something?? Brett are you still here? You have been here for years! Please don't leave because of this. Many of you know I don't agree with every position aired in this group, but I usually know when to keep my opinions to myself, because they might not be for the greater good of the group at that particular time. Oh...and if anybody needs so-called PROOF of my disease....yes my fevers have met your criteria, yes, my blood work PROVES it, yes I have had more surgeries than I care to count. But you know what? That doesn't make me any more of a stilligan than someone who hasn't been sick as long as me. That makes me a sister in stills to anyone who suffers the dragon. I am fighting a FLARE from hell right now, I'm nearly a month late on my Rituxan infusion, my Pred has doubled in the last week and all I want to do is just reach out to my fellow stilligans. Instead, I read the posts and feel even more stress at watching our group struggle with political correctness. So, I guess I will bite my tongue now. I'll find someone to call and cry to, because I don't have time for politics today. Stay Healthy --------------------------------- You rock. Guest guest
Dear , I am so sorry about your friend,it is very difficult to go on without someone you love.I guess I am at an age that makes those things happen more often,it seems not a month goes by when I don't lose someone . As far as the political stuff and arguing going on right now, please don't let that stop you from turning to your family here for comfort and love.I think some people are so jaded by the system and not too many forums in which to air their thoughts on the subject, they choose the easiest place to speak their minds and I guess our group qualifies! I personally think most of it is just preaching to the choir, but to each their own. Please know, that I for one am here for you,and with time things will die down and level off.Again I am so sorry for your loss, you are in my prayers. love Elly --------------------------------- You rock.
