I forgot to mention in my post about Maremmas... I love their coat, it

self-cleans. No matter how grubby or muddy she gets, as soon as she is

dry she's clean. I brush her a little when she's blowing her coat once

to twice a year, but her coat is usually beautiful with little to no

attention, & never gets burrs or mats. I know what you mean about

Pyrenees, I used to have them & it was always a battle to keep them

looking nice.

groomers and if you are running the farm by yourself you won't have

time to comb out those burrs.Shaving them in the summer really isn't

the answer either because you are exposing the sensitive skin to the

sun.Skin cancer in dogs is a possibility.
