Guest guest
Carole, So sorry to hear about your computer. When my 'blue screen of death' as they called it came, I needed alot of things..one of them being a 'motherboard'? Â (heck if i know what that is)...but it all cost me about 350.00 to fix..it lasted about 15 months and then started to do it again.. when it finally did crash again, i said forget fixing it...i bought myself an Apple laptop and love it..It was more than I wanted to spend ever but I did anyways...I would ask Kirk for help...he said he would help me when i needed it to try to fix my other one but i just have never gotten the time to even get back to the old computer..now I try to back up my files so if that happens again i am not totally screwed!.. I know what you mean about one step ahead and 2 behind....it just cost us 221.50 to put a battery in our '94 truck..DONT ASK! Â I am so mad about it! Â I think in this past month we have spent almost 900.00 on it..and it still needs new tires!!GRRRRRRRRRRRR..Take care Diane..42 I don't know where to turn. We make our living on the computer at our house and while I had a crummy old 386 computer, I made money off of it. I spent about 10 hours typing a list of almost 400 music cassettes yesterday and this morning I was going to list them, and I can't log on. I get a blue screen and can't even load it on the safe mode. I know I need a new computer, but I can't afford it. I'm going to ask my boss on Monday if I can get a loan on future pay but that I can't pay real fast. I just get further and further behind. We owe almost a $1000 in back rent, and tons of other things. I did nothing today, absolutely nothing. Fortunately we have another computer, but Al does this full time and I have a hard time " working " on his computer or at his work station (the couch and a laptop). I just hate this, every time we get one step ahead, we get 2 steps behind! And it does get hard. Question: does anyone know how to get my files out of the old computer? I've tried everything I can think of to start the computer and I can't get the safe mode to open. Any ideas? Carole in Hollywood FL **************Planning your summer road trip?
