Darv: It sounds as though you do have stills. the doctors couldn't diagnos

me, that's why Iwent to the Mayo Clinic. They diaagnosed me fast.

In the beginning, I couldn't walk, was in dire pain alll over my body, could

hardly do anything at all,,,,not even open a can of vegetables. I was alone so

it was doubly bad. Pain was 24 hours a day 7 days a week. That was 5 years ago

when I fially diagnosed. I just want you to know that it can get better. I

still have the pain and go into a flare. Not had a flare in a long time,

though. Just keep the faith that it can get better. I even had suicidal

thoughts when it was so very veery bad.

I, too, told my colleagues about what was happening to me, and it backfired

like you. They just thought I was being meoldramatic. It hurt my rfeelings

terribly. They simply did not understandik. I was a universty professor, I

loved my job, but I had to retire early. Now that I'm not under so much stree,

I'm eagmuch better. I was a good teacher, erven won awards for my teaching, but

my colleagues starting losinjg respect for me because of my illness and started

to treat me like crap. I've been retired almost a year now and I don't miss it

at all. I loved the students, but I, too, lost respect for my colleagues. They

were downright mean to me. I beleive that they really thought I was faking it.

It was terrible.

Please stay in touch on this site. There is so much support here. It's

realy helped me when I was so down and out with painh, frustration and
