Hi Cort

You gave such an active mind..so much info. I wish I could think that much.

Are you taking prednisone??

Welcome to the group. I am glad to know there is a place better than USA if

ever I need to get out. For now. I am good and grateful.

I can tell you my political views anytime off list. or OT as we say when

info is not about stills.

I hope you are better and have found the right meds for you.

Any good recipes from there I would also like . I like to cook and love to

share international knowledge and opinions.

There goes one of my tiny letters again.

Liz

I can see you have a list of meds up the wazoo.

You can talk political stuff off the list privately to those who would like

to do that. This list is for support of pain and illness of stills. A

friendship/kinship place regardless of political or other differences..eg

country

music vs classical hahha I like to be silly. Anyways, I did some things in

the beginning too that needed to be " corrected " : so to speak. This is a

great group of friends. You'll see..plenty of people here need help and support

...kindness feels good which ever way you look at it.

Hugs

Greetings Liz,

Thanks for your interesting response. Cat wasn't too

thrilled with my comments, which she considers to be

of a political nature and not to be included in the SD

dialogue. I sent her a note back basically stating

that as long as medical 'politics' was NOT considered

part of the SD agenda there was no wonder why so

little research has been conducted in this area.

There are now signs on the horizon that America is

slowly coming out of its state of multifaceted denial

and beginning to face the most difficult challenge of

examining its objectively as de Tocqueville did in the

1830s.

I think Senator Barack Obama's movement understands

this, but times are just too intense and complex on a

global scale to support a candidate with so little

experience.

You ask about: " Are you taking prednisone?? " Oh boy,

does that bring up maddening memories from the late

1970s. The answer is no! Did you detect a bit of

lingering effect from those times in my writing?

My Chief of Staff at the NIH and later in Boston put

me on 40 mg of prednisone in about 1977 and it me 14

years to gradually reduce down my dosage until I could

finally stop taking it altogether in 1981. How I

survived that treatment I'll never fully understand.

Cooking, ah yes. I personally like Finnish 'Huki'

better known as Pike, Piccarelle, or Muskie in North

America. I also like cheese/meat fondues and raclette.

There is also a middle eastern dish called Dalmodoes

or Dolma in Persian. There are dozens of different

recipes using grape leaves filled with all sorts of

goodies. And just to think that I thought for so long

that only the grapes growing on my vines were of use

in the kitchen. As I recall the grape leaves must be

soaked overnight in salt water to make then more

tender. Hope you can goggle a recipe if you are

interested to try this interesting tidbit.

You asked about which meds I'm now taking. Most of the

those below I'm taking on a daily basis, others as

needed. Even doctors blanche when they see this list

for the first time. However, after taking my medical

history, they are unable to tell me one item that I

shouldn't take. I forgot for just two days taking my

cardevilol and went into a respiratory failure and

nearly died. TWO doctors arrived at my home here in

the Netherlands and saved my life.

These meds cost approximately $1,000 per month here,

where there are price controls in effect (like Canada

perhaps) for prescription meds. Don't really think I

want to know how much they would cost stateside.

Heart Meds

Cardevilol

Eucardic/Dilatrend (repl. Selokeen ZOC 150mg A.M.)

Lipitor (Sortis)

Diltiazem 120 mg P.M. (Procorum retard)

Mono-Cedocard 50 mg. A.M. (Rocornal)

Nitroglycerine Spray 0.4mg / dose

Eyes

Fucithamic ooggel

Vidisec Carbogel

Duratears

Zelitrex

Ultracortenol

Pred Forte

Tropicamide

Fibromyalgie Meds

Arcoxia

Lyrica

OxyContin (OxyNorm)

Paracetamol

Voltaren K

Lung/Allergy Meds

Symbicort Turbohaler 400/12

Singulair

Xyzal

Fluimucil (ACC) Tablets

Urogenital Meds

Proscar (Omnic 0.4 mg)

Gastro-intestine Meds

Nexium (repl.Losec Mups 40)

Enzym-Lefax (z.n. 3 x 2 tabs per diem)

Skin Care

Locaid Crme 0,1%

Zineryt poeder + solvens (30 ml: 40 mg/ml)

Ears, Nose, & Throat

Panotile oordruppels

Broomhexine HCl 8 mg

There are 2 or 3 others that I need to update the list

with, but I think this should due, I hope.

And you thought that your email was longggggggg!
