Guest guest
Dear Holly, the day before I had a bone scan and they injected me with a supposidly non reactive radio-active dye so they could check for arthritis. I'm not sure the dye didn't bring on the migraine, as I felt werd tingling sensations when the machine moved over areas being filmed. This procedure could may have triggered the migraine, sugar and/or caffiene withdrawal.I thought if it were caffiene withdrawal I'd be tired too, because that's how I'd usually be affected when I didn't get caffiene, or enough of it in the AM. However, my energy level picked up and I had no drops of energy during the day. What I'm saying is, I felt like a millions buck without the sugar, no jet lag feeling all day, just steady energy, increased focus and no irritability. I'll let you know how following tests go later this week. Monday, I'll check in with my doctor. Whatever triggered the migraine it appears its here to stay awhile. I read that steriods can raise blood sugar levels as well, which I had two injections in the ER. I don't know about the dairy products triggering migraines, I'll have to observe that. I'm just glad it worked for you. I have also been to Kuai aa couple times. Jog my memory on the sites. I remember rances and water falls. I'm trying to remember the Falls there. Is it rainbow falls? There was a beautiful botanical garden there. Is Lani on Kuai? Wow, I'd love to be in your shoes. Hope you get some relief of symptoms too. YOu make me want to get my juicer out. What good juicing recepies do you know of? I love natural juices and of course that would be allowed on a diabetic protocol. Not saying I'm diabetic but maybe glucose intolerant. It means I could develop diabetes if I don't take action now. Wow your Dad's level fluctuated from 30 to 490, that's pretty serious. God Bless you and your father, I'm up way to late and cannot sleep. But must try now. So much pain, I can't sleep. Until tomorrow then, thx for responding. They were always around my period. One day I realized after not eating dairy for 3 weeks (out of the country) I suddenly got one and realized , hey, I havn't had one lately.I experiemented with eliminating dairy and bingo... NO more migraines. I stopped all dairy for many years and can now eat it without a problem. I remember that doctors suggested I drink a little real coffee to help shrink the caprilaries in the brain I think. Its been almost 20 years since I' ve had one.I wonder if it was so close to the brain scan test if that stuff was a trigger too. I am soo very senstive that chemical exposures in any form will send me into all kinds of reactions.I am oviosly not a doctor, so I can't recommend what to do about the diabetes potiential. I would of course find a doctor and get tested right away. Let us know what they say.My dad got adult onset diabetes and his levels have gone from 40 to 490 in a matter of hours. It really frightens me. I am trying to get him to see a holistic MD in his area, but they won't go.I will be thinking of you . I wish I had more advice on what to do for you. I think you need to have some diagnostic testing done for sure.Take care , Holly
Guest guest
Aloha , It sounds like you are really good at researching what might be the culprit. I find that if I keep a food diary it can help to see if there are indeed food allergies. I'm glad you're going to check with your doctor on Monday. I've never had a migraine for more than 1 day. I hope it goes away today! I didn't know that about steriods. I hope I will never have to get those! Well, Kauai has lots of water falls... Wailua Falls, Kiipu Falls, Kalihiwai Falls, Opeaka'a Falls, Hanakapi'ai falls, Check out this site for lots of pics and info on many sites on Kauai and other islands. www.hawaiiweb.com Lanai is another island. Could you be thinking of Lawai? National Tropical Botanical Gardens is in Lawai which is on the south shore. I've never been there though. Limuhuli gardens on the north shore is beautiful. We used to go there alot when my girls were in grade school on field trips. We do truly live in paradise and I feel blessed and thank God everyday. Juicing? Well, I really like carrot and apple together. There's lots of books out there with recipes for juicing. Certain juices are used for various ailments. I just happen to have, The Juicemans Power of Juicing by Jåy Kordich. Its a good one. You might contact The Gerson Institute for their recipes. Becuase I was in the program I got one of the books. I can't find it right now , but you can purchase direct from them. Go to www. gerson.org Thank You so much for your good thoughts for my Dad. He could really use prayers. Let me know how the tests come out.
