Guest guest
I have a low one also, but not THAT low! I can see 97.2, but again, by the time you hit 100 you are about 3 degrees higher than norm. Does anyone's doc actually tract their temps that way? It seems important to me, especially the lower the base core is.... thanks -Jo In a message dated 10/14/2008 6:05:21 A.M. Eastern Daylight Time, twckzmbg@... writes: 96.3. But, I have also noticed that most people that have developed stills have a low core base temp. **************New MapQuest Local shows what's happening at your destination. Guest guest
Hi Jo,I was reading your post about core temps and wanted to tell you that my doc does track my temps. My temp has been as high as 106.something,but since then my normal temp is 96.7 If I hit 99 I know I have an infection! At least that's been my experience the last few years. love Elly I have a low one also, but not THAT low! Guest guest
My temperature when I am not sweating and running a fever is 97.4. My RD tells me to always write down my temperature whenever I have a fever and take it at least 3 hours apart. She likes to see how I am doing. Lately I have been having problems with the fever, day sweats, cramping of the abdominal area and of course strange periods. I went to the GYN the other day and he wanted to put me on hormone injections that I take every 3 months to help me with my endometriosis. I was like no not another injection. So I am not going to take it, I am going to go to another GYN because my stomach is hurting me so much. I think some of the ladies can identify with this. At the moment I am taking Enbrel and I don't know if that is even working. Well I hope everything is going ok with everybody. Guest guest
I also have a very low base Temp. at 95.2 & when I get the flare goes up to 96.8 This all got to mean somtething. There's a Dr. treating Fibromyalgia patientes as if they had thyroid issues & one the things on his list to looke for IS the low base Temp. His Web site is : _www.dr.lowe.com_ (http://www.dr.lowe.com) . I've felt that Fibromyalgia & Stills are related. Since many patients of FM get Stills OR vice versa. Guest guest
Right now my temp is around 97.5, but it's gotten a bit lower than that. It tends to bounce btween 97.5 and 100.0 every few hours =\ -- -
Guest guest
Kirk When I told my new PCP about havaing too low of body temps. he assked how I measure it. I said digital . He said that those wher not reliable. that they runned 2 point s lower than the old fashion ones , but it doesnt' matter if they are consistent. When I feel cold. I don't just feel it . I AM. Guest guest
Prior to Stills I used to have a normal temp around 98.whatever......... When I 1st got hit with Stills my wife caught it as high as 106.9, the resort caught it above 106 a few times and it would swing from 98 to 102+++ until the steroids kicked in after a few days. Now my normal base temperature is really low, as in 96 " ish " ......I try to take my temp whenever I think about it and regardless of how I'm feeling it is usually in the 96 range. Two weeks ago when my water pipe burst I overstressed myself to death, and wound up with uncontrollable chills, wicked headache, horrendous body pain ...yet my temp read a measly 99.8! Even when I am feeling as sick as hell my temp rarely rises high anymore, and that to me tells the Dr's the wrong message...at least in my mind. I have tried it using 3 different thermometers to rule out a bad reading, one in the ear and the other two oral.....they are all in line with each other. Is this normal??? Guest guest
I have 2 brand new standard issue oral thermometers, one given to me from one of the resorts, the other I had purchased at a store while waiting for my damn bag full of pills! I don't know...none of my Dr's seem tto concerned with it being low anyway, even when it is low in their offices! Guest guest
OK, I'm such a yenta I have to chime in. My " normal " temp is 96.4 but I know I'm heading into trouble when it drops further to around 94 or so. I've told the RD of this and he just seems to brush it aside and look at me as though I'm nuts. Yeah, I know, not far from the truth. Take care and be well. Guest guest
Kirk, Same for me. I feel like utter crap and my temp will show 99, which docs dismiss. Even when I have it on record I have a low normal to begin with. You are not alone on that one at least. houston, TX

I agree, there is such an overwhelming common thread here, and Tom mentioned that this topic was previously discussed (sorry old crew!!!) so that is something very interesting, and also, something to be alert to as a regular medical team may not be impressed with a temp until it hits 101, but having the lower core temp would indicate having to be investigated at a much lower number, depending on the normal core.... **************New MapQuest Local shows what's happening at your destination.
