So today I was told Allie said, " I hate Ms. XXX...I hate social

studies...social studies is stupid. " My first impulse is to say,

" Allie, we don't call things stupid, that isn't nice, " but I also know

it's not fair to lie. The fact is we all call things stupid, she heard

her other classmates call things stupid. I say things are stupid. How

do I teach her that yes, that happens, but the hows/whens to say it?
