Guest guest
- I usually get the symptoms you are mentioning as a herx. Whenever I try too much to support my immune system or kill off pathogens. Are you sure you haven't gotten a herx from some of the protocols you are doing? Sometimes they don't happen right away. There isn't always a direct association. So I would think if you are detoxing, etc--even changing your diet or cutting out coffee--your body could be reacting with the headaches. It sure does to me!! About your blood sugar. the highs and lows do show that you are having trouble controlling your blood sugar. There shouldn't be the ups and downs. That can be hypoglycemia. Hypoglycemia often precedes diabetes. I think you should be able to get it under control. Go on a diabetic diet. that means watch your carbs carefully and eat several small meals with protein. It is important for people with blood sugar irregularity to eat often. Small snacks comprised mainly of protein. Also regular exercise helps control blood sugar quite well. Stress reduction. Making sure your minerals are in balance--especially calcium, magnesuim and potassium. Good luck. I really think cutting the coffee out cold turkey may have precipitated the headaches. People used to caffeine can go through withdrawal. That includes headaches. You might try a more slow cut out. I am saying a prayer for you now that you will feel better soon! love, kathy -- In , michelle king <michellerking1@y...> wrote: > Oh it's been one of my worst weeks. Guest guest
-- My sister - who has hypogycemia - has similar symptoms (says she also feels tense -- seems crabby to us when her blood sugar drops - if that tip helps you). I agree with Kathy's suggestions. For your headaches, you might want to try several things: 1st try to maintain full deep (from the diaphragm) breathing which you probably are not doing since you are worried and feeling lousy and tense about this (understandable of course) and 2nd look into trigger point self-therapy (you can get books on it from your public library) which will show you how to massage muscles (probably those at the base of your neck-back of your head and others) to relieve the headaches. It is the greatest feeling to know that you have power over these things. Keep us posted on your progress -- hope you feel better soon! Guest guest
, The migraines could also be from the release of toxins into your bloodstream if you are losing weight. Fat cells are the favorite hang out of toxins, so when you lose weight, you can get all those freed toxins making their way through your blood and out of the body, making you feel a little icky as they go. I am so sorry you've had such a bad week. I do hope it gets better for you, and maybe giving up the coffee has had a very strong withdrawal effect for you. On the other hand, it could be something that needs more monitoring, so please make sure you are seeing the doctor when you need to. I hate the idea of migraines, but unfortunately, there are so many people who suffer from these with not much coming forth in the way of answers. Just continue to take good care of yourself, which you seem to be doing a pretty good job of, as you have paid good attention to your diet, and exercise and drinking water. Hang in there ! Pray that God brings sweet relief soon. When I went through terrible flares, I used to think of it as "the storm before the calm." Without fail, I would experience a great time of peace and calm right after a very bad flare. I hope you feel that peace and calm soon. Good job on staying away from sugar! I think the more you stay away from it, the better chance your body has of going through significant healing....at least we know that it does not contribute anything to health. God bless, Pattymichelle king <michellerking1@...> wrote: Oh it's been one of my worst weeks. Chronic Migraines, low blood sugar and I stopped coffee. Guest guest
Oh yes definately tension and tight muscles at base of neck. I'll look into some of these trigger point therapies at library. I believe fresh air is great for migraines, so the deep breathing makes sense. My main concern is the way I'm processing sugar. Guest guest
really avoid carrots. That's sad, I really like carrots. I'm sure fruit is out too, like apples which I really enjoy. Otherwise I've cut out all sugar, jellies, soda, raw sugar, and try to watch the amount I'm eatting. I'm also on a caffiene withdrawal. Caffiene and sugar at the same time. I've been very lethargic but am coming back so am hanging on. I think I'll get a walk in today. I just have a low dull headache. I'm drinking tons of water. I'll check out the website you mentioned. I've dont several cleanses. I'm eatting mixed vegetables right now. I'll get some fresh vegetable for a nice salad when I get out to market. I haven't been outside in days. I called dr. today but no response yet. I'll let you know if she thinks I have reactive hypoglycemia. I'm very weak. I think its worth hanging on to this regimine, because I hear those who have given up coffee go through quit a lethargic period, headaches and irritability. Coffee is powerfully addictive. There must be many hidden foods that have sugar in them. I see a Nutritionist in 2 days. Yes. I think that will be very informative. She is from my gynecologists office. I'll continue taking my fungal defense. Thank you Kathy, Hugs, K..mikat828 <mikat828@...> wrote: Hope you're feeling better today. Guest guest
- I think apples are ok. In moderation of course. But they are very good for you and not high in sugar. I use them to juice. I admire your determination. the zone diet actually lists high glycemic carbs and lower ones and I think gives them all numbers. He probably has a website. I just know that carrots, rice, potatoes, bread, bananas are even more high glycemic than straight table sugar and candy. Anyway, I found his list helpful. I try to stay away from most sugars and starches although I really cheated over halloween and am feeling it now!
