Patty, MIGRAINES, LOW BLOOD SUGAR, stopped coffee

Oh it's been one of my worst weeks. Chronic Migraines, low blood sugar and I stopped coffee.

I've increased my water and actually lost 10 pounds over the last couple weeks.

Anyway I started haveing the migraines again. Went to ER 10/23 and have been having migraines ever since. Have been in bed most of the time. At ER my glucose was 139 on a scale of 70-110.

So I scheduled a glucose tolerance test. My fasting glucose was 107, after the first hour it went to 132 (which is normal because hey just gave you a load of sugar), then the 2nd hour it went to 81, and the 3rd hour to 41 which is critically low. Remember scale is 70-110.

Does anyone know what that means. Something to do with hypoglycemia, low blood sugar. But what does it have to do with the way I process sugar? Since they just gave me a bunch of sugar, its not like I was without food or something. I should not have dropped that fast. The docotr said it was critical low and called me within aobut 3 hours of my test being done. He asked if I were shaky etc and to drink orange juice.

I'm curious because my fasting blood sugar has been running on the high side. above 100 is considered on the high side, but the way I process it I'm hypoglycemic.

People get low blood sugar after they haven't eatten, or maybe first thing in the morning but this concerns me because they had just given me somethin 3 hours before. Is this how I'm processing foods and could this have anything to do with my CONSTANT headaches?

Anyone know anything? Please help.

On the coffee situation. I hadn't had a cup for over a week. But today, I thought I would try 1 weak cup to see if it would help me, but it only made my headache worse. So forget that.

My head hurts around my temples, back of neck, eyes, kinda all over, and I'm groggy and cloady feeling. Of course my muscles are aching too because I've been in bed a lot.

My stress has increased because of a college course I'm trying to finish, that could be the reason for migraines. I don't know. I'll be calling dr. in morning. But, getting word from her is like waiting for the moon to drop a piece of cheese, so I hope someone here can help me. My energy has picked up today. I may try a small walk today. I have walked oft and on during this week at least 3 times, so I'm not totally laying down.
