Guest guest
According to what I am reading on the settlement facility web site it says for all dow implants removed after Dec.31, 1990 and before ten from the effective date. It covers silicone, saline and double lumen. Did the line I sent work? Anita Re: http://www.dcsettlement.com/CIG_Docs/Eng/Instructions/Class_5/Explant.pdf You can get a refund for explantation if you do not re-implant and you are part of the Dow settlement. The program Dow had to pay for explant is what died long ago.LyndaAt 06:44 AM 11/7/2004, you wrote:><http://www.dcsettlement.com/CIG_Docs/Eng/Instructions/Class_5/Explant.pdf>http://www.dcsettlement.com/CIG_Docs/Eng/Instructions/Class_5/Explant.pdf >>>>I don't know if this is old news but here is information regarding money >one can get for explantation from the dow settlement. Guest guest
Without replacement, and they must be Dow implants, and you must be registered in the Dow settlement. Guest guest
That's how I understood it also. I wonder if there has been anyone who might have qualified for this that we missed. Guest guest
Lynda, Are you talking about silicone implants? Do you know if saline implants are replaced, I should call Mentor or should I ask Dr. Huang? If I didn't have to pay for new implants, that would cut the cost of my surgery down by at least 1,000 do you think? Guest guest
Only if an implant is defective will they pay to replace, I think. You can check with Mentor. Guest guest
I'm not sure. I think they have a silicone outer layer and saline inside. Guest guest
Half saline, half silicone in separate pockets. It is what I had from Mentor. Guest guest
I will check with them but how will they know if it is a defect until after they take them out? I will ask Dr Huang. I would like to be reimbursed for my money. ElaineLynda <coss@...> wrote: Only if an implant is defective will they pay to replace, I think. Guest guest
Basically, they would have to be ruptured for them to admit a defect, I think.
