I have always known all these doctors to discuss the risks with the

patient. Huang has, in my experience, always told women that no

implant is totally safe, and always given them information on the risks.

There seems to be some other risks missing!

How about the illnesses that are mentioned in the manufacturer's own product inserts? Surely that needs to be thoroughly discussed. Absolutely must be mentioned, and not just in passing.

I am very glad you are researching this...and I share your concerns. Please let us know what you find out. I apologize for the level of controversy that arises on our group over these types of issues.

My primary concern is that women are taken care of, that they have access to truths about implants, that they find healing and help through their illness, the discovery process, and explant. It can be very emotional and trying, but we can be confident of the fact that women are getting better, and women such as yourself are finding the answers they need to make wise decisions. I hope we have helped you and I look forward to hearing of your outcome as you process all of this information.

Elaine have you considered a lift? I think it is a good idea. I may

still get implants but I don't think so at this point. I want to find

out about the lift. I will end up having to travel as my surgeon here

isn't supportive of lifts without implants. I don't know if he is

competent enough to do them.

Elaine I am sorry I cannot continue to argue with you. If you want to

get implants with Dr huang go ahead then, if you feel she has

informed you enough that is your choice. Ask her if they cause health

problems.

Dear Lynda:

Love your work. Could you please explain what is in the shell of the

textured implants. If this implant is covered with foam, it sounds deadly.

Polyurethane is in the foam. There are also many toxic metals and

chemicals in the silicone shell.

Lea,

I don't want you to be confused about the textured implants that we may be discussing.

The kind that I had did not have a foam covering--those were another kind of implants that were marketed, purportedly to avoid capsular contracture as well, but they preceded the textured saline implants that women are getting today, and they were much, much more lethal. The foam covering disintegrated in women's bodies into carcinogenic and toxic substances. It was the same foam that they used in car upholstery, if you can imagine that.

The textured implants they are using today have silicone shells that have been textured...at a very small detailed level, you would see little hills and valleys of silicone "bumps". The purpose, supposedly, was to keep the scar tissue from tightening around the implant and squeezing it, which was what was happening with smooth shelled implants. Of course, their theory didn't work in real life....(as usual) and women still got capsular contracture with textured implants. Furthermore, the textured surface gave rise to the opportunity of macrophages to gnaw off these silicone particles much more easily, allowing silicone to be transported to various parts of the body.

Always promises of a better product, always failure.....it never ends.

Patty, I am wondering if I had the former or the latter textured implants. Do you have any info that would help me determine which ones I had? And what chemicals were used in the more lethal ones? Patty, I agree. We should do a poll on how long after people were implanted with textured, versus smooth, got ill. Maybe we could get a clearer pic on this. I agree, with the toxic load and immuntiy and genetics. I dont care what anyone says, every woman will sooner or later pay the price for having a foreign object , esp coated with silicone-in thier bodies living in the toxic world we do. Love you,

I think textured are bad for sure, but I think it also depends on other factors, such as an individual persons toxic load at the time of implantation, and how well their liver detoxification pathways work. Some people just have a more sluggish liver or a generally less vital immune system. Hormones fit into the picture here probably as well, and that might be tied into the liver function, since the liver has to break down hormones. Genetics also can possibly play a role, I wish somehow they would get this figured out so we have something to go on that is solid! > >You sure got very sick with the smooth ones, once your body decided it couldn't take it anymore. I am so happy you have healed as much as you have already. I was really surprised at the results of our poll, which showed that women with smooth salines were getting just as sick as women with textured. > >I think it is so utterly careless of the plastic surgery field to be pushing implants so gleefully before they have answers to these important questions. Pure foolishness, but they are smiling all the way to the bank, so they have no reason to stop. >Patty > >JOSEPH PALANCA <juliejp61@...> wrote: >Patty, I have noticed the girls that get sick real fast are the textured ones. .Like and you ,while it took me almost 7 years to react with smooths. I know I have been told that there is more silicone flaking, right away, and more amounts of it with textured- so I'm wondering if this is why there was a reaction so quickly. While, the smooth reaction time can be slower, unless a leak with the valve. What do you think? > > >__________________________________________________ >

"Infections" are known to trigger auto immnue disease, cancers, allergies, heart disease and illness. I was on antibiotcs for over a year for a tricky infection, after explant, not normally in well people, and very ill. Its not something to take likely. Infections brew, esp when they have the perfect breeding grounds, whereas-warm salty environment to multiply. Where your body cannot reach them, and trigger many health consequences over the the years.
