Guest guest
Hello everyone, I am new to this site and have been looking for a support group all weekend. I hope someone can help me. I have lost at least 1/4 of all my hair in the past six months. I have had 3 breast implant surgeries, all with complications in the past year. The first one I had, I developed a hematoma the size of a tennis ball in my right breast that had to be removed in emergency surgery six hours after the first surgery. Then, back in March, my left breast implant ruptured (I had Mentor, smooth adjustable implants 325CC's overfilled to 390cc's). The doctor replaced both implants with a larger implant (375cc's) to avoid another implant possibly rupturing from overfill. Three months after the surgery, I started noticing extreme hair loss in my bang area and top of my head. I mean half of my bangs are gone. Recently, or maybe even since my last surgery, my right breast (the one with the hematoma) is now having capsular contraction. The scar tissue is making the implant hard as a rock and it is painful. I AM PETRIFIED of having another surgery in fear that my hair loss may increase. Could it be from the implants, the anesthesia and immune problem? I am not sure. I had tons of blood work to rule out Thyroid and other problems and everything was normal. My question is, if I have hair loss due to the implants or surgery, will it grow back? Has anyone experienced this? Should I have them removed? I can't imagine having no hair and then being possibly deformed from the removal as well. I am very afraid. Please help me. I am a 31yr. old single mom with two young children and I am losing my hair like an elderly person at this point....Thanks, Sarina. > > Oh it's been one of my worst weeks.
