Oh Beth I wished I had seen the show but I don't watch Oprah a lot anymore.

I will try to tape it the 14th. in some way it will seem as I am getting to

The doctor's name on the show was Dr. Tony Post. Don't know if he was her

liver doctor or her O.B. since she had a baby... I'll have to check it out.

i saw it and it was really worthwhile... i also watched the pbs show=VERY

informative....i 'm going to get this man's book.... dr mel levine... he works

with the teaach progrm in the carolina's... it made me rethings medication as a

possible route as we have always gone the non medicated route... still not sure

but having seconds thoughts and will do a bit of rethinking on this matter...

anyway would relly like to get into see someone like this guy.... ttfn neva

Tammy, I did the same thing last night. But I had to keep editing it, since it was over 2000 characters, I guess I was writing a book on plagiocephaly!! My son Jeffry is the same, nap time, he has no problem with his helmet, but during the night we wakes up all the time trying to take it off. Heidi, mom to Jeffry, local helmet, MN Oprah show Hi all! Some of these suggestions are a bit of a stretch and maybe it is a way

to get through to the staff that it is an epidemic. If it comes up

repetitively then they may listen. Again these are ways to get it

noticed as a human interest story.

My wife and I weren't impressed either. 1 Sharon told me she could

barely understand . 2 Why would Marlee be mad because got a

Ci? If Marlee truly felt like she wanted to be deaf, she would have been

proud of who and what she is instead of being sulky.

My wife and I don't understand; Why would anyone want to remain deaf if

they had a chance for hearing? I know what they say about " Deaf culture, "

but it seems like a lot of foolishness to us. If I had a chance to see, I

i was deaf for 28 yrs. and i was very comfortable with who i was and what

i was doing with my life being deaf was just as much apart of me as my

blue eyes i knew how to function in this world knew no matter if i

could or couldn't hear i was still just me

i never felt i was missing out on life i didn't isolate myself but

became apart of my community and my kids schools and my kids sports for

years i was told about CI's

some people went so far as to demand i get one of course i did

the opposite

when there came some major changes in my life i began to see that having a CI

may help me in some ways i did tons of soul searching i

stepped back from my life and gave it a second look but a very honest look

facing up to the realities that being deaf limits my life also there

is so much discrimination toward a deaf person for me my biggest fear

was " to hear " what would it be like? it is worth it? could i adjust?

i knew for fact that the minute i got implanted my whole life ... every

second would change forever this change is frightening but i

was at a point in time that i could be selfish and could take time to really

work at using a CI before i was a mom to ten kids many with special

needs

i didn't have the time i needed to commit to learning to use a CI

i can easily understand why some people don't want a CI but i also

know just how much better my life is for me now that i can hear but i

wanted this i wanted to hear for me

if i didn't i wouldn't be successful i wouldn't want to work at it or

give it time

to each their own

Hi -- I just happened to be watching the Oprah show - and now is your time to speak out if you want to get a message across about plastic surgery!!! They are looking for stories to be told of surgeries gone wrong and people that feel plastic surgery is not the way to go! I can't think of a better opportunity for women to get the message out there! The Oprah show is certainly the vehicle for it! The number to call is: (312) 591-9111.
