Guest guest
hello to everybody, i want to introduce myself a little bit since i am new here... my name is nadine,i am 27 years old and i am from austria/europe.i was diagnosed with SD in november 2007-thank god somebody found out what i have after i was hospitalized last september for 4 weeks with fever of unknown origin.i came back from around a world trip at that time and doctors were of course worried that i might have some weird tropical desease...they tested me for EVERYTHING and i have a long long list of deaeases i do NOT have :-) last november this high fever, terrible sore throat, the rush and muscle pain came again-an internist sat down and did some research and told me what he thought i might have.he of course put me on 50 mg of prednislone. i was down to 5 mg four weeks ago-had still some joint pain (never had swollen joints though),but fell perfectly healthy.went on this rock-climbing trip with friends, worked a lot and BANG-a couple days after that i found myself back in hospital.unable to move, terrible pain...i don´t have to explain, becaue you all know. and again, the doctors gave me 75 mg of cortisone and it took a couple days until i got a little better.right now i am also seeing a RD who had SD patients.he suggested to get down from 75 to 25 mg.then from 25 to 20 (within a week),from 20 to 15 (within a week)and then we have to see.if i should relapse he wants to put me on MTX or one of all the other meds.. today i decreased my dose from 25 to 20 and i am so tired... so this is my story so far-i do not have any experiences with meds other than prednislone and am curious to know if there is a med-combination that works best and what you all do to avoid any relaps. all the best, nadine -- Der GMX SmartSurfer hilft bis zu 70% Ihrer Onlinekosten zu sparen!
