Of course you deserve it Kathy! Best of luck to you. Just know that as far as I am concerned...just as someone who is going through it too...you are making the right choice. I was nervous too...but now (only a week after surgery) I am so relieved and happy. You will be too. Take care and happy healing!

Kathy,

Hope your consult with Dr. Lee went well. I am thinking and praying for you. I know what you mean about wanting to get better for you, your girls and your husband. You will get better! You can believe that! If you decide with Dr. Lee, he will do a good job. Keep us informed. Blessings,

I am out the door to see a Dr. Lee here in San Diego about my explantation. I am nervous. Thanks to those of you who recommended hhis office. That makes me feel a lot better. Hopefully when this is all over, I can get back to living a normal life again free of pain. My little girls deserve it, my husband deserves it and so do I. Kathy

Dr. Lee was VERY nice. I really liked him. He told me pretty much

what I already knew through all of you here in the group and my

research. He said there is a percentage of women who do have

autoimmune problems because of the implants. He also told me mine

were very hard and on a scale of 1 to 4 (4 being the worst) I had

about a 3 1/2. He was surprised I did not have some pain in them.

He asked me if I had seen a Rheumi (SP?) which I told him because of

the stupid HMO's I had not yet but that I had changed primary

doctors so that I could skip the referral (which the HMO would not

give me) and go to another primary in my area who is a rheumy as

well. He told me to make sure and have him do all the tests he

could on me first before I decide to take them out because he did

not want to make my hopes high that it was a sure fire cure. He

said about 75% of women who have them out feel better and the other

25% have some chronic disease that might not ever go away. He told

me to make sure I did not fall into that 25% category. I told him I

had already had blood, urine and bone scans done but he said there

are several other diseases that closely match the symptoms I was

describing. My appointment with the rheumy is Dec 10th so I will go

from there. I have already decided to get them out. They are all

hard and ugly anyway and as long as I have to have them out, I might

as well do it now while I am in my 40's rather than wait until I am

so sick it cannot be reversed and in my 50's!! I know the rheumy

tests will all come back negative so we will see. I just want to be

well again. I jurt all the time and am plenty sick of it!!! Crabby

too!!! Love to all and thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

Dr. Lee sounds like a good doctor. Getting your explant is

certainly a step back to health! I had many symptoms of different

diseases also. I was finally diagnosed with having mixed connective

tissue disease--basically an autoimmune condition where you have

symptoms of more than one condition. I had fms, lupus and

scleroderma symptoms. Getting my implants out and detoxifying and

taking the antibiotic protocol has sure made a big difference in my

health. I sure it will for you too! Have you set the date yet for

your explant? I would warn you not to expect too much of the

rheumy. they are often a great disappointment and not often of much

help with diagnosis or treatment. They mostly like to " treat "

using painkillers and immune suppressants. Many of us on this site

have found that we can bet better results by changes in diet,

detoxifying, and supporting our immune systems.

He was very honest with me and did not have an attitude (which is

what I expected). LOTS of experience with this type of surgery and

gave me an accurate picture of what I would look like when he was

finished. Now I just have to cough up the bucks!! He aint cheep!!
