Guest guest
Sorry if this is redundant, but a friend who is on a Weston Price list sent it to me and I thought I'd share... Subject: OPPORTUNITY FOR RAW MILK RETAIL SALES IN NEW YORK The New York State Senate and Assembly is in session until June 23, 2008. We have an opportunity to move an important RAW MILK bill from committee to the floor for a vote. This raw milk bill would allow RETAIL sale of raw milk by producers holding a permit from the Commissioner of NY State Ag & Markets. ONLY TWO things can stop this bill - the unaddressed fears of the Consumer Protection Committee (Food Safety) where the bill sits now, and the absence of genuine, positive letters of support from raw milk from NY residents. We have heard glowing remarks about the letters that have already arrived, triggered by the last Action Alert and customers of Raw Milk Farmer and Peaceful Activist Gerald Snyder, who found sponsors for the bill. New York City and Western NY have written with creativity and passion. Keep them coming. Members from Albany and North Country areas - they haven't heard from you, please write now. Since your letters are not standard form letters - each from the heart - they are unique and carry a powerful message. Much like sustainable agriculture, there is strength in our diversity. READ THE BILLS: NY State Senator Young - S6827. ; www.senate.state.ny.us NY Assemblyman, Dan Burling - - A10870 www.assembly.state.ny.us WRITE THE LETTERS: What moves you about RAW milk? What would this new law do for you as a parent? How has it helped you, your family, your students, your clients, your patients? ACTIVISM IS EASY AND IT'S FOR RAW MILK DRINKERS OF ALL AGES Here's some ideas to jump start your creativity. -Send pictures of your babies, toddlers and children - families toasting their health with raw milk. -Pictures of senior citizens with raw milk moustaches, holding prescription bottles turned upside down...empty! -Pictures of your healthy cows in the sunshine on grass. -Send them your medical expenses for the year 2007 with a comparison to the national average - $7,600 per person. -Send them a coupon for raw milk, redeemable only at a farm 100 miles away (then, ask them, wouldn't they prefer to redeem it at the Whole Foods down the block?) Kids, get out your crayons and construction paper and go for it! Do you run faster and jump higher with raw milk fuel? How about sharing your report card showing a glowing attendance record and great grades? Remember, the biggest obstacle to this retail bill becoming law is FEAR. So, remember to address the safety of raw milk for you and your family. Stress the health benefits you've enjoyed.
