Guest guest
I wasn't sick from my implants Hanna - I was healthy.....but guess what - they were not healthy! I was just one of the lucky ones. You should've seen what they look like after years of being inside your body! If you saw that, you'd never do it! It's so gross!!! Guest guest
Hanna, I just drove home from the doctors office sobbing the whole way (and this was not the first time!). I'm in such extreme pain, and it looks I'll probably have to wait until after the Christmas holiday to get these out! I am only 43 (which probably seems very old to you) but way too young to move around like a 93 year old. I had a wonderful career taking care of the Communications needs for the CFO of Boeing Comercial Airplanes. I worked long and hard to get there, and now I am hardly able to work over 1 to 2 hours a day. I have such horrible Rheumatoid Arthritis in all my joints, I have Sjogrens disease in my eyes (your eyes get really swollen and your vision is blurred), and my brain is so foggy that I can't remember to pick up my son at school sometimes. In your note you say you are worried about not being able to get a job without boobs, and I'm worried that I won't be able to keep my job because I don't have the ability to move my body without pain, and I can't use my eyes and my brain with difficulty!!! I don't mean to sound harsh, but I really want you to think about this. The chest might help you get the job, but what will you do when you can't do that, or any other job, because you are so sick? I see posts from other women on this site who are saying the same thing and it lets me know that I'm not alone. Please don't make the mistake of joining us in our misery!! Follow your good instincts and God Bless. Tammy > I wasn't sick from my implants Hanna - I was healthy.....but guess what - they were not healthy! I was just one of the lucky ones. Guest guest
Tammy, I hope everything works out for you, but please, please be careful using a doctor for explant that is not understanding of your situation. There have been women who have had BAD results with explant by using someone that couldn't be trusted to do the right thing. If he thinks you need psychiatric help, he isn't going to be extra careful about the need for a total capsulectomy and proper removal. Sometimes these doctors think they can just "pop it out"......not so. Please think this over carefully, as you want this removal done right the very first time. It is not unheard of that women have remained ill and had to go back for additional surgery to remove what was left by neglect. PattyTammy <tamm001@...> wrote: Great advice Patty! I saw Dr. Wandra Miles here in Seattle today. Some of the wonderful women on this site had referred me to her and she was really nice and said that she would take them out, except that she wasn't really comfortable with reconstructing me (using my own flesh) on the side of my mastectomy in her office. She thought that I should probably ask my original PS to do it since he did such a fabulous job reconstructing me with the saline implant, and he will do it at the hospital. This is the same PS who sent me to the psychologist before he would do it, but I guess I'll continue to work with him to see if he can schedule the explant before the Holiday break. Thanks to all of you for being there! Thanks for listening and helping to address all of our issues! Life is weird, sometimes the worst things can bring out the best in people. Guest guest
Amen to that. I would never recommend a doctor for removal who does not believe that at least some women are sick from their implants and who does not do the recommended en bloc procedure for removal.
