Guest guest
My surgery was six hours and then two hours in the recovery room. Dr. Kolb told me it would be about that long because I had the explant and mastopexy all at once. Mine was in a surgical center. I was concerned about such a long surgery in a surgery center but once I got to Atlanta I was very comfortable with it. Ask your surgeon a lot of questions. How close is the nearest hospital? In all your years here...have you ever needed to transport someone there? Do you have privileges there? What kind of equipment is in your OR? How many of these procedures have you performed? Is your anesthesiologist a consultant or a technician? If you don't feel comfortable there...then move on! The last thing you need right now is additional stress. Good luck! Look forward to feeling better soon! Christy By the way...I don't know about anybody else...but my implant surgery was about two hours, cost $4800, and they scheduled me in IMMEDIATELY after my consultation. However...my explant and masto took over six hours, cost about $10,000 (not including expensive drugs, recent ER visits, medical testing, airfare, hotel, time off, etc. etc.), and other than Dr. Kolb...no doctor would come within fifty feet of me... Isn't that interesting to think about? Have a great day everybody.
Guest guest
Jeann, My explant took 1 1/2 hr. my implants were above the muscle and he estimated about 2 hrs. I had it done in the Quincy Medical Hospital. Mine had to be done in a hospital because it was covered by my insurance.Barby
Guest guest
How in the world did you get your insurance to cover that? Guest guest
Kathy, I had very bad capsular contraction so my Blue cross covered the operation. My plastic surgeon had to write a letter to Blue cross to get the approval. barby
