Guest guest
Anita there is alot of thought that these conditions are strongly inherited. At least they think that fms is. But I believe it is more complicated than that. First of all, there is good evidence that people with autoimmune diseases are more likely to have other household members get one too. Not just genetically related people but like your spouse too. This may be because a mycoplasma or other unindentifiable pathogens or environmental toxins may be the cause. In Gulf War syndrome, it was found that if the veteran was sick, he usually had mycoplasma--especially mycoplasma fermantans (which I have) and if his spouse or kids were sick, they had the same kind of mycoplasma. So probably it is a combination of factors, some genetic and some environmental that brings on these illnesses. But unravelling that is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. I can tell that my daughter has alot of my symptoms--my son too. I believe that unless they do everything possible to live healthy lives, they will develop fms or other like conditions. Lupus runs heavily in my husband's family and sometimes I feel very bad for the weak genetics they probably inherited. Oh well, we can't change that. We can only try to control what we can---diet, etc. Unfortunately, teens are great at accepting that eating healthy and getting sleep is important. My daughter always tells me none of her other friends has to do that so why should she! Have you tried your son on oil of oregano? That seems to make me herx less than most other things. Love, kathy > Thank you Kathy. That's very interesting about the autonomic dysregulation. I have chronic fatigue and I have noticed that so many of my son's symptoms are similar to mine that I have wondered if he had chronic fatigue also. I guess the name of the disease is not as important as getting to the bottom of what is causing one's symptoms. > $2,000. for three visits? Wow. At least I got more visits for my $2,000 But then again it didn't do any good anyway. > Love, Anita >
Guest guest
Kathy, I totally, wholeheartedly agree about the mycoplasma. Remember when they thought that ulcers were caused by too much stomach acid? Now they know that it is Pylori K bacteria. They are also finding that heart disease might be caused by bacteria. That is why it is so important to detox. Not only as a way of getting well but also as a preventative measure to keep you well. And I guess maintaining a strong immune system would prevent toxins from gaining a foothold. To me, thinking along these lines is so much healthier and more effective than just trying to match a drug with a symptom. It is also a more hopeful way of looking at it for me. I was thinking that maybe your children might benefit from something like immunocal if they have a genetic predisposition for lupus. Just a thought. I'm sure that would be easier than trying to convince them to chew on garlic! My son is taking grapefruit seed extract in grapefruit juice to help keep the bugs down. I have oregano oil but I know without even trying it that one whiff would give him a pounding headache.
