Guest guest
Diane, Welcome to the group! . . . I'm happy you found us, but sad you need us! Unfortunately, your doctor lied if he told you your implants didn't have any silicone. The shell of the implant is made of silicone. This silicone gradually degrades (weakens) over time. The manufacturer warranties do not cover removal WITHOUT replacement! . . . Do you want to remove your implants without replacement? If plan to replace them every 5-6 years, do you think you can handle (physically, financially) repeated surgeries that will get you to age 80? It's important when you have your implants removed that you have them removed " en bloc " . That means removing the implant while it's still inside the capsule to avoid spilling the contents into your chest cavity. . . . Even though you have a rupture! . . . They may put drains in to remove the saline first, but they shouldn't slit the capsule and remove the implant. AND they should not leave the capsule behind! If you have capsules left behind from your old implants, they need to be removed. The doctor also needs to put in drains for the first few days to remove any fluid accumulations. If your doctor refuses to remove them en bloc, or tells you that you will be disfigured, find another doctor. You could get a lift that will put you back together as close to natural as possible . . . depending on how much tissue you have to work with. Are you having any symptoms, besides being sore? It would be wise to get them removed as soon as possible, but it's not an EMERGENCY! If you start feeling ill, running a fever, or feeling fatigued, you will need attention sooner rather than later. The antibiotics are just to hold you until you can find a doctor and get scheduled. The end of December is not a long wait if you aren't having symptoms. After you get your implants removed, it will be time to detox . . . This takes time and discipline, but the net result is well worth the effort. In the meantime, drink plenty of water (1/2 ounce for every pound of body weight per day), eat healthy foods, get plenty of rest, and think postive thoughts. Stressing over this can make you ill in itself! As to legal relief, there may be some in the offing. So far, we don't know of any. But, to be safe, have the pathologist send your implants to Dr. Blais in Canada. You will not want to take custody of your implants as this ruins them for evidence. Dr. Blais can tell you what bacteria/mold/fungus, if any, and if your implants have a manufacturing defect. If you have any questions, ask away. This is a wonderfully well informed, supportive group. Hugs and prayers, Rogene
Guest guest
Sweethearts, I'm so upset today. We cannot let bad people destroy our group. I know that it makes it hard to trust again, but we must...or they win. Where is Jammie? She seemed upset with me in her last e-mail. I have just spoken to our Dr. Blais, he promised that he would write to the FDA. I faxed him Dr. Zuckerman's letter and some of the bad stuff that is going on. He knows the truth and he will fight for us to have these devices banned. Love to you all...Lea ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`````` Re: ruptured saline implant > > Diane, > > Welcome to the group! . . . Guest guest
Dear Lea, has unsubscribed herself. . . She sent a message to me that she was going to join explantation.com. Hopefully she'll find the kind of support there she's looking for. Apparently there is more going there than we realized. Groups are kinda like shoes . . . You gotta find the right kind and size, or you don't feel comfortable. It would be wonderful to have Dr. Blais' support! He's one of the most knowledgeable in the field!
