Guest guest
Thanks for the good news. (LOL) But actually that is why I have been putting it off for so long, the $$$. My hubby and I make jokes that the reason our teeth are falling out of our heads is because we can only afford to take care of our son's dental needs. I took him to the dentist to fix a filling that had broken and they found 2 more cavities (of course) and said it was time for his bottom retainer. I left there spending $3000.00, well I charged it. I can't even afford to get my teeth cleaned let alone a root canal. The shot is the worst part. I hate when they wiggle the needle around. OUCH!!! just the thought, I am starting to freak out typing about it. You have a high threshold for pain. I couldn't not get numbed up, you are crazy. So medicare will cover getting your teeth cleaned? We own our own business so I am lucky that I have a PPO and Medicare. I don't use medicare too much because I was always covered 100%, but now I have a deductible and then I have to pay30% after I meet the deductible. So I have started using medicare. But I have never had dental insurance. I am so thankful that I have had health insurance throughout all this, I feel so bad for those of you that don't and are struggling. I have been reading your post and I feel so bad for you that you aren't able to sleep throughout the night. When I was on higher dosages of Prednisone I would have a problem falling asleep and staying asleep. And it took the dosage of a elephant to put me down. The Doctor came up with this cocktail of 2 different sleeping meds and a muscle relaxer. It worked but in the morning I was so drugy, a couple times I had to call my mom to come help me with my son becuz I wasn't even able to put his shoes on, and they were velco.(LOL) It wasn't funny at the time. I thought it was weird that I could sleep during the day but I couldn't sleep at night. I didn't even need meds to sleep during the day. So I feel your pain. I hope that you are having a good sleep right now. Take care and thanks for your post. Love and Support, Keri in CA Re: OT-tooth ache It sounds like you need a root canal, and don't be afraid of them, they really don't hurt at all . The thing that sucks is that root canals cost 3-500 initially, and a few years down the road it will break and require a crown for another 6-800!!! Good luck, Kirk. Guest guest
* You wrote:* So medicare will cover getting your teeth cleaned? *I haven't a clue. I don't know if Medicare covers anything related to our teeth. I pay for the cleanings myself, though I haven't gone in 2 years as I can't take the bills. Hell, it costs a couple hundred just to have a tooth pulled anymore, and I will have to worry about that when the time comes. I guess it was all for the good that I spent the money on my teeth before I got sick, as that should buy me a little bit of time at least.* * Kirk.* > > Thanks for the good news.
