Guest guest
I am so sorry. I know this must be very hard for you and especially at this time of year. I will say a prayer that God will give you His peace in this time of suffering. , I can only tell you what I would do. When toby had cancer and was suffering, I took him and held him while my vet put him to sleep. He wasn't scared at all, it doesn't hurt at all and it is very quick and painless. They don't suffer for one second. I was petting him and telling him I loved him and kissing him and the vet even said a prayer with us. Then I took him home and buried in the backyard. It is the kindest thing we can do for our pets. Humans have to suffer on when they are dying but we can stop that for our pets. There is no point in letting him continue to suffer when he will only live a short while longer. Unless you have a strong belief that putting him to sleep is wrong, it is the most humane thing you can do. It doesn't HURT at all--it is just like them getting their yearly rabies vaccine. My vet even comes out to your house to make your pet more comfortable. Whatever you do, I will pray for you both. Guest guest
- Dear I just sent a reply to this and for some reason it didn't send so I will try again. I just wanted to say how sorry I am that cleo is dying and suffering too. And it is a very bad time of the year. My prayers and sympathy are with you. I can tell you what I did when toby was dying of cancer. he was in pain and the meds wouldn't help. I didn't want him to suffer any longer as there was really no point. He was going to die but I could save him the suffering. I took him to my vet and held and kissed him while he was put to sleep. Being put to sleep is painless and quick. It doesn't hurt at all and they go unconsciousness within seconds and their hearts stop within a minute. My vet even said a prayer with me. I took him home and buried him in my backyard. It really is the kindest most humane thing we can do when our pet is suffering and there is no chance of getting better. As humans we are often forced to endure much suffering when we are dying, but we have the ability to stop that for our pets. Whatever you decide to do for cleo, my prayers are that God will give you His peace and that cleo leaves this world gently. love, kathy -- In , " goingtolunch " <goingtolunch@y...> wrote: > > Dear Ladies, > > Cleo had a massive bleed yesterday (nearly all day). Guest guest
, my heart goes out to you and cleo. I will pray for her, and for you to have the knowledge and the strength to make the best decisions for her. This is the real time to show your job as a pet owner. it’s the biggest responsibility, the hardest part, the final days...I know it is hard for you, but to Cleo, it is a lifesaver to have you helping her now and making these decisions. You re in my thoughts, little cleo, mine too! Re: My dog, Cleo is dying -Dear I just sent a reply to this and for some reason it didn't send so I will try again. Guest guest
, Sorry to hear about your dear Cleo. This is not the thing you need to be distracted with while you are dealing with so many of your own health challenges. Make sure that you keep her comfortable. If you can't, I would suggest helping her along to comfort by putting her to sleep. Regardless, hold her close, sooth her with your voice, and make sure she has all of her favorite people and things around her. I will pray for God to give you the knowledge to know what to do, and the courage to do it. Love and hugs, Tammy (a) > > Dear Ladies, > > Cleo had a massive bleed yesterday (nearly all day). Guest guest
My Dearest : I'm so sorry that your darling little dog is so sick. We went through the same thing last year with our Baby cat. She had cancer in her mouth, we had the vet do surgery, but it was too late. She was 13 years old and we miss her so. Just a few months earlier we lost our Ginger-Bear cat, she loved Baby. I hope that they are together in Kitty Heaven. They had both been on television with me when I was interviewed for my breast implant story. Thay are on Tony Lamberts site with my story, The Canadian Connection. We are all here for you sweetheart. Women like us need our pets because they are really our best friends. Take care and try to get some support for this sad time. Sending much love to you...Lea ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`````` My dog, Cleo is dying > > > Dear Ladies, > > Cleo had a massive bleed yesterday (nearly all day). Guest guest
I'm so sorry to hear about Cleo being so ill. I just recently had to put a tiny puppy to sleep because of a strange illness. She was suffering so terribly. Once she started to cry non-stop, I knew I couldn't stand to let her suffer another minute. I had her put to sleep. I cried for days before and after. I know this doesn't " help " , but it is an option. Pam > > Dear Ladies, > > Cleo had a massive bleed yesterday (nearly all day). Guest guest
Dear Pam - I somehow did not see your post about your puppy -- I am so sorry that you had to go thru that. We also had to put down a puppy some yrs ago (an unreputable breeder sold us a pup with a parvo infection that went quickly into pneumonia and then heart failure due to her failure to get it treatment) and I was definitely not a pretty sight that day -- slobbering all over the bank window while withdrawing the money to have her euthanized. I know how much it had to hurt you to kiss that baby good-bye. I hope you saw that Cleo is doing much better today -- as a matter of fact the vet just called to check on her. More good news, he decided to prescribe a sedative for me to give her for her " last ride to the vet " when that day comes. I know that we probably will not have many other good days, but I am so thankful for her that she had one today - - she has been more awake today than she has been in several weeks. Going for a walk was heaven for both of us. I am coming to terms with losing her and know she will probably be gone soon. I just hope she is spared another crisis like the one on Sunday -- that was almost unbearable for all of us. I would rather just see her become more listless and realize that it is time. If you have never seen it, you would enjoy the book Dog Heaven by Rylant (a children's book - probably at your library) -- it is really sweet. There is another, I will try to remember the title over the next few days. Thanks for your kind thoughts and words.
