thyroid and gluten!

Just wanted everyone to know, most of you are filled in that I'm pregnant. Well, usually 80% of patients with thyroid issues in their 1st trimester need about 50% -90% more thyroid hormone, as the placenta utilizes most of the mommies , so you become temporally hypothyroid and need more for a few months. Its dangerous to be under active. Later, the baby makes it own, and you can go back down on meds.

Well, I did some blood work and was called in to my thyroid specialist, for an immediate appt! I was like oh-oh. This is the great doc, that further tested for gluten issues as I was having such a huge problem with my thyroid treatment. Well, since eliminating gluten, my t3 skyrocketed from about 200 (higher end before) to over 800 points! I am severely HYPERthyroid and he says, its amazing, this would change so fast. He has to cut my meds down right away and then some more slowly. He said the gluten was obviously getting in the way of my thyroid medication working, and the attack on my thyroid. Within in two months of getting rid of gluten, I am actually making my own thyroid hormone and all these meds are pushing me over! He told me I shouls see some major improvements with my thyroid condition over this next year, as this was so fast. (maybe remission? ) He says he would like to do some kind of paper on this , with me. I said fine! I was also so hyper, he was surprised that I wasn’t heart palpitating. He also said the implants did a whammy on me, as he has never seen such a resistance to thyroid meds (I was on a lot for a long time with him and although I felt better, the amount I was on, most people show symptoms of being hyper on, but for me, it got my metabolism perfect, perfect blood pressure, heart rate, body temp-believe me, he is very in depth ) and had severe gluten intolerance ever.

He says although I am a tricky patient to treat, he has learned a lot from me and all my issues. I keep him on his toes. He ha.

Also, when I was at my gyne' s on Mon, he says about 3 out of 10 patients he sees have implants, and is concerned. He would like a copy of the crossing of bacteria and silicone from breast milk to child. To share with patients. Patty, where is that one? And he said, he has seen a lot of women with removals, and most are disfigured. he was surprised I looked so good. Realy suprsied! I owe that to this site and Patty. had I not been informed, I would have gone that sad route. Anyway, had to share! The baby is 8 weeks and had a beautiful heartbeat! all is well! Love
