Guest guest
Today, the British Columbia government threw its weight around ... detaining our milk at one of the city depots Using the Health Act RSBC they slapped some tape with ominous wording on our property, the milk. So - legally - it's stuck in the cooler at the delicatessen. We cannot use or enjoy it on the pretext that it's `food which has been obtained from a source not approved by government'. It means that particular depot is out of service. But that's all it means. Amusing to see on the ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH INSPECTION REPORT "The sample was then transported to JR Labs with ice packs and a thermometer in the cooler". Obviously the govt. is paying attention to what I told them in my last letter = what Mark McAfee taught us = the continuous "cold chain" is a crucial practice in handling REAL MILK properly. Also ; the Vancouver Coastal Health Agency says, of our raw milk "Risk Rating: Low" I believe the govt. won't make an issue of risk of disease from raw milk, because they can't win, in the face of the legal sale of REAL MILK in Washington State, Oregon and California. The fact that they've stooped to enforcing minor regulations to prevent convenient delivery gives away that the motive is `restraint of trade' So, back to the do-it-ourselves mode … a refrigerated truck parked on the lot of a sympathetic shareholder. What irony … probably a hundred containers of foodstuffs were offloaded at the Port of Vancouver, today, from the squalor of every third world country you can name - all pretence of inspection being a charade - yet the best food in the world produced within 100 miles of our homes, REAL MILK, is illegal Once upon a time in America we had Liberty under Law : everything was permitted except that which was immoral. Now, everything is prohibited except that which is licensed. Gordon Burnaby British Columbia
